1978 UFO Appears in Art Over Thousands of Years
28-Dec-2001

1978 Photo From Iran
While interviewing German UFO researcher Michael Hesemann on our Dreamland Christmas show December 22, Whitley was looking through Michael?s extraordinary website and saw the June 2001 ?UFO Photo of the Month,? an image of a ?hat- shaped? craft taken in Iran in 1978.

Prehistoric Image
Since he had interviewed U.K. researcher Matthew Hurley the week before, on December 15, about his remarkable discoveries of UFO images in art, from prehistoric times through the Renaissance, Whitley recognized the Iran image as being a close match to 3 images on Hurley?s site, one of them over 20,000 years old!

10th Century Tibet
The photo on Hesemann?s site was taken in Iran on May 13, 1978 by a 16 year-old student named Iamshid Saiadipour, who took the photo through the window of his apartment as it hung over his city. It was published in Tehran Magazine on May 18, 1978 and ended up in the files of the U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency. Michael discovered it in 1980, when the files were released under the Freedom of Information Act.

14th Century Tapestry
The same page on Michael?s website contains a similar photo, taken 5 months later, also in Iran, by another teenager, Franklin Youri, who observed a luminous disc with reddish portholes. The photo was published in 1981, after his family moved to the U.S. to escape the Islamic Revolution. It was analyzed by the Center for UFO Studies and looks identical to the craft in the photo taken in May.

To see these photos, go to ?June 2001?UFO Photos of the Month,?click here.

On the ?B.C.? section of Matthew Hurley?s website, you can see the same ?hat-shaped? UFOs in a cave painting from Tanzania that is estimated to be up to 29,000 years old.

Switch to the ?A.D.? section to see UFOs of the same shape in an illustration from a 10th Century Tibetan translation of the Sanskrit text ?Prajnaparamita Sutra,? which is in a Japanese museum. Two objects that look like hats appear to be floating in mid air and one of them seems to have port holes on it. UFOs are also in two tapestries created in the 14th century, now located at the French basillica of Notre Dame in Beaune, Burgandy, that depict the life of Mary. Hat-shaped objects can be clearly seen in both tapestries.
