In the summer of 1996, one of the most remarkable crop formations to that date was laid down in a field near Stonehenge. This was the first 'Julia Set,' a formation based on a mathematical principle discovered by Gaston Julia, which finds the hidden organization in chaos.

This formation appeared during the day, and a witness who overflew the field early in the morning, then returned, testified that it could not have taken more than 45 minutes, and had been done in broad daylight right beside a well-traveled road.

Now, at last, a witness who stopped her car on that roadside has come forward, and Lucy Pringle tells us exactly what she saw as the formation was created before her eyes.
