Anne's Diary

The Empty Space

I've noticed that certain people have more of a relationship to the dead people in their lives--what we might call ghosts--that others. Psychic mediums are like this--perhaps because the have one foot in each world. The dead often show themselves in what might be considered ordinary ways--which mediums are good at detecting, but which most of us overlook.

Oddly enough, one 'for instance' in my life has involved parking, of all things.

Since my cancer diagnosis, I've been going for radiation treatment daily, in addition to doing many other things. I've been doing this for about a month now. We usually head for the hospital about an hour early, even though it's nearby, because it takes so long to find a place to PARK.

Despite the fact that the garage seems totally full when we arrive, every single time, the same parking place stands empty, as if it were waiting for us.

Now, in recent weeks Whitley, who does see the dead quite often, has been saying that he has sensed my father nearby. And I have to say, it's just the sort of thing he might think to do to help me.

Is he scaring other potential parkers away, or sending them messages in their minds that this isn't a good place to park? I don't know, but I do know that, after weeks of ending up in virtually the same space time after time, I'm certainly suspicious that it's no accident.

I heard another great "ghost" story recently: a friend whose father just died told us that after he passed, a bird began singing loudly on a branch outside one of their windows. He paid attention to this because his mother had always had a fond appellation for her husband that involved the word "bird." He felt that this singing, which he had never heard before, had something to do with them reuniting, and communicating this news to him.

I think that our dead want us to know they're here. The space they once occupied here on Earth may no longer contain them, but that doesn't mean they're not still around. The hard part, for them, is letting us know.

Anne, I believe it to be so, as well. Two of my friends who have passed on often communicate with me by alerting me to when a song that I associate with them, is playing somewhere. For example I will suddenly feel I ought turn on my car radio and I will hear a snippet of the song (there is one for each of the friends). The songs themselves are one's heard with the friends over twenty years ago, and hence are not contemporary music but nevertheless I hear them at moments and in circumstances that bring my friends to mind, as if they are saying hello. I have many other visitations (different than songs) from other dead friends and relatives. I love your story and thank you for sharing about your magical parking spot.

Wishing you the best, Anne. The world needs people like you.

Yes, I believe it as well. I love you and Whitley and am so grateful to you both. My best wishes and deepest feelings for you! We need you both to be with us for many years to come!

My wife and I have been trying to pay attention to the little "signals" we get here and there, and I believe you're right when you say that the dead show themselves in ordinary ways. Perhaps the problem is that we're expecting something more dramatic and have trouble believing in the simplicity of it all?

Thank you for sharing, Anne.

Hear, Hear! Let me echo what Edward Talbot and EE have said - We love you both, and would love to have you on this plane of existance with us for as long as possible.
Reading your diary always brings a smile to my face, Anne! THANK YOU So Much!

Somehow the idea of spirits reaching out to reserve a parking spot for you has just the right elements of humor and strangeness to ring true. I'm always astonished when some spirits express themselves to me using the most mundane items on hand--for example, replaying the same song when iTunes is in "shuffle" mode. You and Whitley so clearly have a remarkable rapport with the most fascinating spirit personalities, it's always a pleasure to read about your experiences.

I do sense my mother and dear friends that have parted. I often talk to them aloud when I sense them and when nobody sees me. People may call me crazy, but I am not. Some of the parted I feel with great emotion and they send vibes that make me cry. I know who is who when this happens. I also sense a distant friend when she is thinking of me-- and she is not dead. We often dream about each other in different situations. Upon the death of my mother , she dreamt constantly about me without knowing what I was going through.

Anne let Whitley take good care of you.
I am full with your return to whole.

My sister-in-law was in a mournful mood, remembering her recently-passed mom. (Not our mutual and wonderful mother-in-law.) She looked out the car window and saw clouds in the shape of "Love". I don't know if it was in caps or not, lol. My brother-in-law saw the letters, too. It was quite distinct, they say. A message in the heavens!

Stay strong and hopeful, Anne! We all need you and my fiance and I have yet to meet you in person - which we have wanted to do for so long!

I am sending you all my strength. Remember, you are God and you just don't know it... yet.

With love, Chris

Years ago, I was going to buy my mother a lamp as a gift. As I was picking the lamp out, a voice inside me said, "If you give her this lamp, she will die". I wondered where in the world did this thought come from. I chalked this up to nonsense chatter within me and did not believe it. Anyway, I purchased this lamp for her (it was one of those lamps where you touch the base to turn it on and off). It was in less than five months, I believe, that she then passed away. Up to this time, there was never any trouble with this lamp. After she passed, I would come home and find that the lamp would be on even though it was definitely off when I left. This happened several times for a few weeks. My father was also a witness to this. I felt within that she was trying to tell me she was all right. I told my father this as well. After a few weeks, I no longer found the lamp turned on. Not until four years later when my father passed away. Then I would come home to find the lamp on again.
Another experience I had was years later after I had moved away. I was sitting in front of the fireplace relaxing, and had noticed that there were many burn lines and streaks in the logs from the flames. However, on one side of one log the word "DAD" was unmistakenly burned into the log in clear letters. I was just astonished to see this. At that point my wife, who lost her father a few years prior, walked into the room and before I could even say anything to her, her jaw just about dropped as she pointed to the word "DAD" on the log. I regret not getting a picture of that log. Our parents are very much missed.

Dearest Anne,

We love you! You are precious to us. Take good care of yourself and give yourself a lot of love. You deserve a lot of love, as well as good parking spaces. :)

When my Mom made her transition, that day I saw a highly unusual geometric shape shining on the side of the house next door. I have studied symbols for a good 40 years, and I have never seen this shape. I ran inside and got a pencil and paper. It took me a very long time to reproduce what appeared to be a simple, yet intriguing shape, but I finally got it down on paper.

Of course, I thought, "This must be some kind of reflection off a window, mirror, car, etc." I spent a long time exploring every possible angle, and I could not find any way that this geometric figure of light could have been a reflection of sunlight off some object. And even if it was, to this day I have still never seen in any painting or photograph this simple, but unusual shape.

I felt so deeply in my bones that this was a "seal" or "sign" from my Mother to me. I cherish the experience, and will never forget it.

Fondly,
Laurence

Dear Anne,

I now see the whole circle of life (physical + nonphysical) and feel connected to all there is, was, or will be. My dear friends and relatives who are no longer wearing their physical bodies are as close to me as my breath and heart. There are so many instances of communication and communion with them that I cannot pick just one to share.

Please know that my husband, Dan, has recovered from cancer 3 or 4 times since 1977 and it is astonishing to the medical world who told him that he had 2 or 3 weeks to live in 1980.

We hold you in our prayers and see you whole, radient and Divine. Thanks for all you and Whitley have given us and continue to give us for all these years.

With Love and Joy,
Stephanie and Dan Marsh

Dear Anne,

Thank you for sharing your burden with all of us. Hopefully our support will help.
You and Whitley are in my prayers.

With Love,
Liz
