We are planning to replace the current board with new software in the near future. We do not yet have a schedule. Due to a number of issues and risks with migrating the old board data to new software, we are planning to freeze this board and keep it available, in its entirety, as an archive for as long as we are able. In the meantime, please continue to enjoy the current board, flaws-and-all - it is a wonderful community.  | ||

If it uses Discus (which is likely because of the discus.cgi), they have a successful upgrade guarantee if you use their service to migrate it to the new version. http://www.discusware.com/services/upgrade.html If you backup first there's no harm in trying, because you can always restore it if needed. Of course there's other good forum software too, such as vBulletin. The forum is probably due for an upgrade one way or the other, so I'm glad that it's in the works. | ||

PHPBB2 or 3 is a very good system for forums, you really should think that one over. I used to be an admin on PHPBB2, really awesome to configure the whole forum. There's so many options, there's a chance to RP. You can have professions, a bank, title, colored names, customise your emoticons, rank images, icon images, the list goes on and on.
