Thanks Buddie! I am proud of this cover on a whole other level, not so much for my playing, but for improving my recording skills. I've come along way and learned much about recording and allowing more space around each instrument and frequencies, panning and such. I'll spare you any more details, but it's been a process. http://www.myluciddreaming.blogspot.com

Thanks Bob! Now I have to re-record all my old songs. My son was listening to a new song I'm working on and said to play it a few times, that is was spiritual... not what I was going for, but unintentional spirituality can't be a bad thing...lol http://www.myluciddreaming.blogspot.com

Only if by "butchered" they mean you offered a fresh and unique interpretation of an old classic. Since my all-time favorite versions of "Amazing Grace" include bagpipes, I found your version both satisfying and quite innovative. And I loved the hint of "Joy to the World" interwoven at the end. |

thanks miaree & bean. Yes, i was going to do Joy to the world, but finished amazing grace first, then decided mush them together at the end there. There's a smidgin of Little drummer Boy at the very end as well. some of the pics are mine, the lioness and some of the landscapes are South Africa, where my sister is right now. The rest are Library of congress free images that I've collected. I was supposed to have the CD out before Christmas, but I got sidetracked. |

This is my new "ambient Japanese" instrumental called "llave de negro" which I may rename when I know how to say "key of black" in Japanese. Tell me what you think. My goal is to make a song like this that makes you OBE by the middle of the song..lol http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LrnPMA8s1vk http://www.myluciddreaming.blogspot.com

Nice stuff paul. My new stuff is available for free here: http://3talltales.bandcamp.com/ Free download for the time being. Nobody makes money selling music anymore, so I figure why try? All the songs were written over the course of the last year. They are all instrumental, so I understand most folks don't care much for it. All instruments were played by me, recorded, produced and mastered by me as well. Why? I'm a masochist I guess. It hasn't been an easy year, and the songs reflect that. It goes from rock, blues, metal, new age, folk/acoustic...well whatever. http://www.mikebeechler.com |

mthood2, your music is very interesting and well put together and recorded well. interesting timing. You're very creative and away from typical, which is great because I'm not big on cliche' and that's hard to avoid, I know, I fall victim to it enough. This song is closer to what I do, but I'd like to think my stuff is all over the place, like "crack the egg head" my next song coming soon! "This year" is my latest, a little mellower than I like to be, but when it hits, it hits, you know. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pi5CNPBdqxI http://www.myluciddreaming.blogspot.com

Thanks Paul. I enjoyed your song, very mellow...I like the bongos. Yes, my music tends to be not very accessible to many folks, which is why, after 25 year of playing music I still wallow in obscurity, but then oh well. |

So after finishing all of my songs I haven't played guitar in a month. However I listened to my new stuff and thought I'd post a couple favorites of mine: Backcountry Acoustic Led Zep sounds Solstice Tim Burton meets Pinkfloyd Red's Blues My version of some uptempo bluesy stuff, I guess. Letter to the Shogun Majestic metal in 7/4 It's Getting Dark A mellowish kind of groovy thing... Well, there you go. I don't make an $$ of this stuff, but enjoyed playing all the instruments. |

Not sure if this is the best place for this link, but I thought that some may like this interview on Link TV about two artists: one Native American and the other Tibetan: http://www.linktv.org/globalspirit/art Click on "Art and the Creative Spirit" (about an hour).
