Just a thought - what will this oil do to the gulf stream as far as breaking it down or slowing it down? Could this be the trigger that stops the gulf stream and brings on the super storm and ice age? |

allan, I do not believe any scientist knows what the ramifications of having it in the Gulf Stream will mean for the planet. It all depends on if and when they stop the gusher. ...nor do they understand what it will do for Hurricanes. Hell, we may have oily rain here in Tallahassee depending on the strength of the hurricane. It is a very dicey situation for Florida as we have so much coastline. Florida is in dire straits with regard to money because we have no state income tax and we live or die based on our sales tax. If people don't come for their vacations, we lose a LOT of money for State services. The Republican controlled legislature has chosen to cut money for schools, aid to poor children, medicaid, and funding for services to seniors that are already in dire straits and too sick to work rather than close loopholes in the sales tax law or change the tax structure for the rich. Poor seniors do not have the option of going on disability as they are already receiving Social Security...which for the vast number solely dependent on it is not enough. They are having to choose between food and medicine. This is a shame in a country supposing as well off as we are. One is better off living in a European country, but they will not allow immigration if one is retired or elderly. It is a sad situation.

I had asked that of Whitley right after the spill. I wondered if the viscosity of the oil compared to water would help slow or stall the N. Atlantic current. He was wondering that too. I think the pollution may not be the biggest problem of the currents go Energy-Creations.com

BP is really doing a great cover up job on the oil spill. Anyone else seen those ridiculous commercials, where everything is hunky dory now and BP cares so much about us and the environment? It just ain't so and there is no investigative journalism on TV anymore. However, if you read, you might want to check out the new Mother Jones magazine. There is an insightful and very long article on the damage this oil (and Corexit -the dispersant) has done and has yet to do. They don't have the entire article online, but here is a link to warm you up. http://motherjones.com/rights-stuff/2010/08/found-bps-supposedly-missing-oil |

Man In ~ Spot on!!! I was just making a PB & J sandwich and thought, gee, I wonder if PEANUTS, ORANGES, SOUTHERN CHICKENS, ETC., (TOBACCO) ARE GOING TO BE OR ARE ALREADY CONTAMINATED WITH CONTAMINATED RAIN/AIR FROM COREXIT FUMES EVAPORATING FROM THE GULF!? If so, I'll bet we'll never know about it till we start getting sick, NATION-WIDE, with some "mysterious" diseases! How to recognize the signs that the spill aftermath rained inland: - "If after a downpour you notice that the road is slicker than usual, this is a sign the rain water may be contaminated - If after a downpour any foliage appears waxy, and any white surface stained. - Crops and plants which whither unexpectedly after a downpour. The oily substance coating the leaves block respiration and photosynthesis." Too many people enjoy the comfort of opinion without struggling through the labor of thought. JFK

One problem with those signs Victoria is that is they forgot about the guy who drove by the spot in a junk car that leaked oil and spewed oily smoke from their tail pipe. |

Right Mike! But that junk car guy can't cover a whole countryside... probably just tracings near the road's edge. Too many people enjoy the comfort of opinion without struggling through the labor of thought. JFK

I have found quite a few sites about the condition or the Gulf of Mexico and Gulf Stream. These are two of the best ones. Local folks and news outlets doing their own testing and research that the rest of the country and world are not hearing about. Interesting how the millions of gallons of dispersants have made all the oil and toxins in the gulf stream and washing up on beaches undetectable. www.floridaoilspilllaw.com is great. There is and article and vid on the second page from Sept 25th about finding a toxin level of 173ppm on Sarasota beaches you probably will not see anywhere. A level of 2.6 ppm of cor-exit 9500 and oil is enough to kill 50% of all test fish in 96 hours. The next site www.testingthewater.org is a group of folks doing their own testing. Makes me wonder what tropical storm Nicole just washed up on the beaches all up the east coast we will never hear about....... |

G O O D -- G R I E F Allen! What a frightening article your "Phoenix Rising from the Gulf" is. People read this. It's the death of the Gulf... which is connected to "the 7 Seas" The Gulf of Mexico is Dying A Special Report on the BP Gulf Oil Spill "The pictorial evidence tells the whole story. Especially that the BP narrative is nothing but a corporate-created illusion – a web of fabrication spun in collaboration with the US Federal Government and Mainstream Media. Big Oil, as well as the Military-Industrial Complex, have aided and abetted this whole scheme and info blackout because the very future of the Oil & Gas Industry is at stake, as is the future of the US Empire which sprawls around the world and requires vast amounts of hydrocarbon fuel." Great charts and graphics -- check out the rest of the story! http://phoenixrisingfromthegulf.wordpress.com/ Thanks Allen! Thanks Victoria It is now quite clear that civilizations before our own learned that this planet and its oceans was not concerned with them in any way. It appears that they learned this lesson very abruptly and without mercy. The planet was just following its normal cycles. We in our arrogance seem to think we can toy with the planets mechanics and interfere with its systems and cycles. It is madness. I fear we are going to learn the same lesson they did only on a much larger scale. It stands to reason that the farther we push these systems out of their normal levels and cycles the farther back they will have to come. It is indeed frightening.......... |

I just spent the last two hours reading on the site I posted above, Florida oil spill law in post number 18. It is a really great site and I have not been there for several weeks. There is a ton of new information and articles. I have been sitting here trying to think of some comment to make about it all but I just can't seem to find the words. |

Looks like one of the sites I have been following and posted above, testing the water has been taken down. This was a group doing their own water and beach testing around the Florida gulf coast. The results they were getting just happened to be very different from the standard news line or lack of we have been getting. Wonder how long it will be until they get to taking down the other two sites I have posted above. Wonder what happened to the BP statement "We will stay until every drop of oil has been cleaned up". At the rate they are going that should take about a thousand years. After reading the article Is Someone Killing Off BP Whistleblowers on the front page of Unknown Country I guess they have found a different and much cheaper way of cleaning things up. As far as I can tell there is no testing at all of the the coastline following the gulf stream from the gulf all the way up the east coast...... |

Looks like it's not over just as many people have suspected all along. There have been quite a few larger oil slick sightings in the gulf over the past several months. BP says it is not coming from the well head. However they are not saying anything about if the oil is leaking from the pipe or traveling up the outside of it and coming up through the ground at any point in it's length. If in fact this is the case the ever increasing leaks will be unstoppable. Several researchers think this is the case. The government agencies in charge of corse know nothing or are saying nothing. Here are some interesting current articles on the subject.... http://www.floridaoilspilllaw.com/ |

Just finished reading this, lots of interesting information. I was looking at a map of all the oil wells in the Gulf and there are so many hundreds of location dots it's hard to believe. All this information is about one well and the area around it. What is the condition of all the others? It's too sad to even think about. I can see now that we will have no massive conversion to solar and other types of clean energy, it will never happen. A little here and there to make it look good but that's it. The oil companies own everyone that matters and will do whatever they please. Just look at what happened in May. For at least two decades we have watched our companies switch to having all their products produced/made in China. Then watched many of these companies get bought out totally by the Chinese and Arab nations. Now you can not pick up almost any item at any store that does not say made in China. This includes pretty much all the American name products we all grew up with. While large amounts of our factories were closing and our people were losing their jobs by the millions did you see any huge tariffs on products imported from China? Then the Chinese start making Solar Panels and shipping them here. Low priced Solar Panels we can all afford and begin to install on our homes and building's and machines and equipment. Then what happens in May? Huge tariffs put on the imports of Chinese Solar Panels! So what can we learn from this? It does not matter that our environment and planet is being destroyed. It does not matter that our country and it's businesses and now banks are being bought out and owned by communists. It does not matter that we are broke and out of work. It does not matter that huge numbers of us that do have jobs are working for less money than we were making in 1980. It does not matter that the homes we have worked all our lives to pay for are worth half what we owe on them. The only thing that matters, the only thing that finally caused huge tariffs to be put on the open import markets that have destroyed the middle class in this country. Someone is trying to bring in an item that will begin to get us off fossil fuels and take money out of the pockets of the oil barron's. We are the biggest bunch of suckers ever....... http://oilspillsolutionsnow.org/?p=400 |
