Music Pottery" is a new style of ceramic craft released by its inventor Mr. Jia Huan Shi at Guangzhou International Scope Art Fair in 2001. It means a pottery which can use for music playing. It consists of a lot of different beautifully shaped pottery sculptures. Its sounding theory is on the basis of ancient Chinese musical instrument "Shun" which has 7000 years of history, and its creation philosophy is "evolution forms of universe and treasure of musical instrument". It's a new style of art which should be enjoyed combine with vision and audition in pottery field for the first time. It's unprecedented and is a new branch of ceramic craft, furthermore, it leads people's aesthetic consciousness to a bran-new field.

How cool!! I have a friend who makes ceramic drums, I know another who know can make clay whistles. I wasn't there, but a few years back at NCECA, there was a guy who had made all sorts of ceramic instruments and did a performance. Horns, drums, etc...
Thanks for posting. I'm a clay artist, so I really like this.
