it used to be occasional one would see an absurd or weird headline. now it's like every day! what have we come to as a society when the news is filled with, 'people eating other people's faces, cooking their spouse and eating them, removing your own genitals and cooking them, having sex with horses , goats and donkeys? we are devolving. the only serious idea i have is-somehow, besides the actual crazy people running around-there is something in our environment or people taking strange illegal drugs that cause at least a good portion of this. the crimes are getting more and more bizarre. sure you can trust the government....just ask an indian.

Do you think that maybe exposure to TV shows and movies about people doing these things is desensitizing the population and creating an atmosphere of relaxed morals? I don't know the answers but when I was young movies like Psycho were considered scary and aberrant. Now those movies seem tame as we watch programs about human torture and cannibalism and zombies etc. Our kids have grown up watching this stuff-they laugh at it while it literally sickens me. I think as a culture we have become brutal and unable to feel a deep sense of right and wrong. It may also be that as we are evolving polarisation is taking place-those who are not ready to move ahead are devolving into barbarism while others are becoming more concerned and sensitive to the plight of our fellow humans. |

yes, we are being desensitized. back in the day, just hearing that some one was murdered sent dread through you. now, it's no biggie unless it's sensational like missing body parts, etc. too much media coverage. sure you can trust the government....just ask an indian.
