The CD picture is of a slaughtered dolphin crying tears which is the redness the blood tears ..but also the cover goes deeper than that as if u look at the black eye its an opal ..all animals have a simular shape etc and the black opal represents a connection...we are all connected in spirit. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ieqMmYmIH2s&feature=related I must create a system, or be enslaved by another man's. ~William Blake

I woke up with this song in my head. One of those times when I'm like, "where did my mind come up with this old, obscure song?".............. What was even stranger is that it was the Marty Robbins version that was in my head, as opposed to the more well-know version by Andy Williams (or even Elvis). Just barely awake, I felt compelled to come online and find this version. As soon as I began listening to it, it hit me that it must be a message from my Mom, and that it was on this day, March 28, 2000, when my mom came home from the hospital in the care of Hospice. She lived one month more after that. Marty Robbins was her favorite singer/entertainer, and has also always been one of my favorites, from the time I was a little girl. This one's for you, Mom! I love you and miss you STILL so very much! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ZID_09IpTI&feature=related "In the end, only kindness matters."

So, now, I'm on a "tribute to Mom" tangent....... God, she and I loved his show! And, she took me to see him in concert, and it was a peak experience! In addition to such an expressive voice and vocal style, he had such a stage presence, and such humor! One of my favorites...... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3_lQuRQ8YU8

Sweet memories.....of Mom and I sitting in our living room in the early to mid 1060s, she at the sewing machine, making some amazing creation, and me on the floor or couch, and we would listen to records. It was my job to change the records. I was taught to take care of both the records and the equipment. I miss you, Mom! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TTkAFhS87Hc&feature=results_video&playnext=1&list =PLC771455C35071678 Bittersweet, but still beautiful and clear, memories of you and me, Mom. My parents divorced in 1967, when I was 14. It was decided that I would stay with my dad. About a year later, on one of my weekends with Mom, she took me to see this movie. For years afterward, she would tell and re-tell the story of how I was sobbing within the first minute of the opening credits. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hdlz6QzyAVA (I've probably told that story before....but, so what? Don't watch it if you are bored! ) "In the end, only kindness matters."

Sometimes, when I am listening to C2C, I get really turned on about the bumper music. I have a feeling (and have read as much) that Noory does not choose his bumper music. I really enjoy George Knapp's choices, and I particularly love that fact that he comments on each tune. I miss that so much, from back in "the day" when I was growing up, and the DJs talked about each and every song, AT LEAST, to identify song and artist. I have also come to really enjoy John B. Wells, both as a personality, and especially for his eclectic bumper music. Saturday night on John's show, there were three particular songs that I had to come to the computer to look up. OK, one of them, I knew a little better than the others, and I was so thrilled that he played it! I will post this one last, below. But here's the thing about all three of these songs/bands. They are songs that exist in some tiny, unclear part of my memory. It's like I am/was aware of them on some subliminal level. I don't really know how to explain this. I know that I have heard these songs, but when, and how, I don't know!!!! This is true, despite the fact that they are the kinds of songs that should have been, (and now ARE) among my favorites. Absolute killer songs! The thing that keeps coming to mind about where I might have heard the first two, is possibly the College radio station in my town in the late 60s and most of the 1970s. They were the go-to station for the local Hippies, and were "album-oriented" rock (actually, "progressive rock format") before the FM stations took on that label. But I cannot say for certain that is where I heard these first two bands. I just don't know......and that's not like me at all. I am the kind of person that has very specific, very visual and sensual (of the senses) memories of "the first time I head this song"....kind of thing. And I have been the "classic rock music trivia queen" for a really long time....and yet.....I would not have been able to name these two songs. So, in any event, and whatever the context was when I first heard these...and regardless of why they passed out of my radar and did not end up in my favorite songs collection.........here are these three amazing songs...... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HqJ-ETSG4fs&feature=related Lyrics: http://www.lyricsfreak.com/s/sensational+alex+harvey+band/faith+healer_20618459. html During the predominant instrumental parts, I challenge you to close your eyes and listen...... I don't know why this song is familiar to me, nor do I know why I can't remember more about it..... This one came out at a time when I was really out of touch. It still pains me to admit that I got so out of touch with music for so many years, all due to letting too much ridiculous drama into my life to distract me. But when I heard it on C2C the other night, I had this "moment" of remembering the song, and yet, once again, the frustration of WHY I have only a fleeting memory of it, and how I missed out on such a good band! It reminds me of a slightly more "prog" version of AC/DC. In fact, I would LOVE to hear AC/DC cover this song! --------------------------------------- This one........ When I heard it on C2C, I did not know who it was...even though I remembered the song....... And again, this is not about not remembering some unimportant (relatively) song on the radio on a given year.....it's about not remembering songs that fit into a place that includes some of my most treasured music. And even though I have some vague memory of this song....I certainly was not aware of it enough to have been aware of the lyrics. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qe7iYcIwArw&feature=related http://www.metrolyrics.com/whos-behind-the-door-lyrics-zebra.html You can certainly hear all the Led Zeppelin/Robert Plant/Jimmy Page and Yes/Jon Anderson/Steve Howe influences here...... I would love to see them in person even now...... -------------------------- And then, finally, there was this song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tna0Mmu1XlI Now, I am much more familiar with this particular band, and especially this particular album........the whole entire album....... .....but still.........I don't know why. I can still see the album cover in some context of someone playing the album for me, and the cover resting prominently on the floor in front of the stereo system. But I don't know who or where or when this was. This is just so NOT like me...... I ****think**** I ****might**** know where/when and by whom I was introduced to this album, but I cannot say for certain. I think it might have been the same occasion when I was first introduced to "The Yes Album", and to "Jeff Beck Group". This would have been in the Spring/Summer of 1972. But although I can remember very vivid memories of those two albums being played for me on that warm day.......I cannot pinpoint if "Argus" was on that same day. If I were not so afraid of hypnotic regression, I might put this on a list of things to be regressed to remember....... I don't really even know why this is important to me.......except that it just is. The person who introduced these albums to me on that day, was someone I loved deeply, who died young, in 1984, in a head-on traffic accident. Again, I don't know for certain that he is the one who played this album for me.......and I don't know how in God's name I did not end up with this album in my own personal collection. In any event, one can still hear the "Yes" and maybe "ELP" influences, among others, in this album. It was different from their earlier albums, and after this one, things changed a lot.......and eventually, "politics" took over (as in, "Will the real Wishbone Ash please stand up?") Aside from all my (probably boring) free-association, I hope you can enjoy these pieces/bands. "In the end, only kindness matters."

I can't even begin to count the times (like the last several days) when I have been hanging on by a thread....... .....thinking I can't take any more bull-stuff..... .....thinking I have used my last ounce of courage and energy and faith and hope..... .....wondering if I can find any relief from unrelenting pain and fear and stress and pressure..... ......and music is almost always one of the most profound remedies...... I love "Live From Daryl's House" SO MUCH, I can't even tell you. This episode has introduced me to another new artist that I did not know about, but who is so incredibly GOOD, it just gives me so much joy. It carries me through to another day, and helps me to believe that I can (maybe) endure ANYTHING, if I can have the reward of things like my sweet pets, my contact with nature, and incredible music! Those are the things that keep me breathing. Hope y'all can enjoy this amazing artist, both on LFDH, and otherwise.... http://www.livefromdarylshouse.com/currentep.html?ep_id=66 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ToAecdI2SZ4 and, OMG! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GGq1RWiscM8&feature=related
