, SW, That was some emotional stuff...sigh. allen, Now your offering 'I Like The Sunrise' brought back memories and now I'm on a ramble.  Okay, here I go. Mitchell Parish wrote the lyrics to that song and he is one of my favorites. I think the lyrics may have been adapted from the poet Rumi that I carry on about all the time. Coleman Barks fro the U of Ga. translates much of Rumi's works. (I'm rambling). Back to Mitchell Parish. He wrote the lyrics to another song that has haunted me since a child that I have posted many times here, Stars Fell On Alabama. It was one of my Daddy's favorite songs and he always indicated a mystery behind it and to this day it haunts me. I found this from Wiki but to me this isn't the answwer that I feel I need to know...maybe it is...I just don't know why it bugs me so.. There are many older versions of the song but I have come to like Jimmy Buffett's version. The title refers to a spectacular occurrence of the Leonid Meteor Shower that had been observed in Alabama in November of 1833, "the night the stars fell."[ As reported by the Florence Gazette: "[There were] thousands of luminous bodies shooting across the firmament in every direction. Allen, Starting at around 3:30 p.m. (board time) on Monday, I posted 6 videos, all with basically the same subject matter. When you made your post #2800 to me, you didn't tell me which video you were responding to. When I asked you what, specifically, cracked you up, I should have actually asked you WHICH video you were commenting on. I am usually more careful to communicate what I mean more directly, leaving little room for misunderstanding. Even after you responded about "costumes and acting", I still kinda thought that you were responding to the vid I posted for "Goodbye, Earl", which, to my mind, is the one that is truly funny, despite its subject matter. Hey Mama Shine, while listening to that piece it came to me that we are so lucky that the musicians of that period HAD TO write their music on sheets of paper so that the other musicians could follow along. Now we have recording equipment for that task. What this means is that we can literally read the intent of the author of the piece written centuries ago. The feeling of each note is written on a sheet of paper. Two hundred years from now will we be able to say the same thing about the music being composed today?
