OK, if you actually watch the video of the performance of this song, you will see that the lyrics I posted are not perfectly correct..... but.....that's ok....... the song still makes me sob, and count my blessings.....and has inspired me to go offer 10 bucks to my next-door-neighbor's son, who helped me with the leaves in my yard. He stopped by, on his way out to go for a run with his mom....and asked me if I needed help (I was desperately trying to rake and pick up leaves, and thought I was not going to make it.....) He spent about 30 minutes helping me scoop up the piles of leaves and put them in a big trash can......and I offered to write him a check.....but he said no. You know, this kid....as well as his younger sister, have frequently (over the last couple of years since they moved in next door) stopped by to ask, "Can I help you with anything?"......it just breaks my heart that they are so sweet. I am going to go over there, after the 1st of the month, and give him 10 bucks. It's not much....but it's something....and I feel I gotta show him how much I appreciate his offer, and his effort, to help me. And I must double up on my "count your blessings" prayers each day! MAMA!!! The Goat Rodeo!!!! Thank you!!! I have to tell you a story about this! On Dec. 23rd, I went to the grocery store to stock up on fresh veggies and fruit and stuff, because we had snow in the forecast for the next day. I was in the frozen foods, when down the isle comes this tall thin woman, around 65 years old, I reckon. She must have been 6 feet tall, I kid you not. But what stuck out even more was the goofy Christmas hat she was wearing! It was like a santa hat, except it had big elf ears! Well, I could not let it pass, so I smiled and commented that I loved her hat. We began chatting, and I commented about how I loved seeing the festive holiday clothes that people had on all over the store. She then took notice of my shirt, which was a vintage Pink Floyd T-shirt (over a thermal underwear shirt). We began talking about music, and then she told me about hearing Goat Rodeo on NPR. Well, I was fascinated, and I had completely intended to come right home and look it up on Youtube! But I got distracted, and forgot about it! Thank you so much for posting about them!
