Buddie, Gabriel = mad genius!!!! I still can sit in front of my stereo speakers and just get completely lost in that song!!! Of course, I can get completely lost in LOTS of incredible music!! Those lines you quoted.....wow! All I can say is, it has only been in the last 10 years that I came to truly understand what was meant by those lyrics.   Another passage (just before the one you quoted) I have come to understand clearly in the last 10 years, is this one: "And they're giving me a wonderful potion 'cause I cannot contain my emotion And even though I'm feeling good Something tells me I'd better activate my prayer capsule" You might find this interesting, regarding the song (warning, the page is HUGE): Deconstruction of "Supper's Ready" I thought it was fascinating, especially the interview with Peter Gabriel and company!
