Coldplay is amazing. Let's Talk Oh brother I can't, I can't get through I've been trying hard to reach you, cause I don't know what to do Oh brother I can't believe it's true I'm so scared about the future and I wanna talk to you Oh I wanna talk to you You can take a picture of something you see In the future where will I be? You can climb a ladder up to the sun Or write a song nobody has sung Or do something that's never been done Are you lost or incomplete? Do you feel like a puzzle, you can't find your missing piece? Tell me how do you feel? Well I feel like they're talking in a language I don't speak And they're talking it to me So you take a picture of something you see In the future where will I be? You can climb a ladder up to the sun Or a write a song nobody has sung Or do something that's never been done Do something that's never been done So you don't know where you're going, and you wanna talk And you feel like you're going where you've been before You tell anyone who'll listen but you feel ignored Nothing's really making any sense at all Let's talk, let's ta-a-alk Let's talk, let's ta-a-alk "In the end, only kindness matters."

Occasionally I feel a re-occurring need to dedicate a song to two of my exes. Here's to you, boys! Mary Anne and Wanda were the best of friends All through their high school days Both members of the 4-H club Both active in the FFA After graduation Mary Anne went out Lookin' for a bright new world Wanda looked all around this town And all she found was Earl Well it wasn't two weeks After she got married that Wanda started gettin' abused She put on dark glasses And long sleeved blouses And make-up to cover a bruise Well she finally got the nerve To file for divorce She let the law take it from there But Earl walked right through That restraining order And put her in intensive care Right away Mary Anne flew in from Atlanta On a red eye midnight flight She held Wanda's hand And they worked out a plan And it didn't take long to decide That Earl had to die! Goodbye earl! Those black-eyed peas? They tasted all right to me Earl You're feeling weak? Why don't you lay down and sleep Earl? Ain't it dark Wrapped up in that tarp Earl? The cops came to bring Earl in They searched the house high and low Then they tipped their hats And said "thank you ladies, If you hear from him let us know" Well the weeks went by and Spring turned to summer And summer faded into fall And it turns out Earl Was a missing person Who nobody missed at all So the girls bought some land And a roadside stand Out on highway 109 They sell Tennessee ham And strawberry jam And they don't lose any sleep at night 'cause Earl had to die! Goodbye Earl! We need a break! Lets go out to the lake Earl! Well pack a lunch And stuff you in the trunk Earl! Well is that all right? Good! Lets go for a ride, Earl Hey! GOODBYE, EARL! (by The Dixie Chicks) "In the end, only kindness matters."

I want to hold the hand inside you I want to take a breath that's true I look to you and I see nothing I look to you to see the truth You live your life You go in shadows You'll come apart and you'll go black Some kind of night into your darkness Colors your eyes with what's not there. Fade into you Strange you never knew Fade into you I think it's strange you never knew A stranger's light comes on slowly A stranger's heart without a home You put your hands into your head And then smiles cover your heart Fade into you Strange you never knew Fade into you I think it's strange you never knew --Fade into you Mazzy Star Love says "I am everything". Wisdom says "I am nothing". Between the two, my life flows. -Nisargadatta Maharaj

I Love My Dog I love my dog as much as I love you But you may fade, my dog will always come through. All he asks from me is the food to give him strength All he ever needs is love and that he knows he'll get. So, I love my dog as much as I love you But you may fade, my dog will always come through. All the pay I need comes shining through his eyes.I don't need no cold water to make me realize that I love my dog as much as I love you But you may fade, my dog will always come through. Na, na, na, na, na, na, nana... I love my dog as much as I love you But you may fade, my dog will always come through. Na, na, na, na, na, na, nana... I love my dog, Baby, I love my dog. Na, na, na... I love my dog, Baby, I love my dog. Na, na, na... Lyrics Cat Stevens |

Lordie....I hope I am not one of them, with my "damaged" song and dance........ (Yeah, it IS all about MEEEEEE!) But, actually, I also know some people who bring up those exact feeling in me; in particular, specific members of my family, and one ex-SO. "In the end, only kindness matters."

I know just what you mean. I could go on all day about this issue. And believe me I don't tend to pat myself on the back too often, but the truth is that so many people I have known have treated me as some sort of "regular guy" celebrity, due largely to the type of area I come from...i wont go into too many details except to say it puts one under immense amounts of pressure to try and live up to that standard, and of course one ultimately fails inevitably. HA! That's great SW! Well I'll say this, I've always been thought of as "strange" in that I tend to think outside the box moreso than many people in my family/circle of friends, etc...thats an over-simplification i suppose...really I dont know, i guess i've always just carried myself in a certain way and been highly empathetic to others, a rarity around here I suppose...in any case I've always been singled out as the go-to guy for everyones problems, the shoulder to lean on, etc....not that im necessarily b*tching too terribly much, i love to help, but it does carry its own problems when you make very human mistakes or errors, and people who look up to you immediately fall upon you with the swords...anyway...that's all on that. Heard this song last night. It was used on the promos for Showtime's new season programs. It took me forever to find it tonight!! OOPS! My Bad! Despite the naughty lyrics , they play some crazy hot swing!!!! Listen to a couple of the other songs on their page..... "Hot Dog" will play automatically after "OOPS! My Bad!" Makes me wanna cut a rug! Alas, I can't cut much of a rug anymore!

Don't let SW fool Yas this Lady knows her tunes.. but I'll slow the pace down for her Colin Hay Band http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m4tcRlHY-3Q Waiting for my real life to begin Any minute now, my ship is coming in I'll keep checking the horizon I'll stand on the bow, feel the waves come crashing Come crashing down down down, on me And you say, be still my love Open up your heart Let the light shine in But don't you understand I already have a plan I'm waiting for my real life to begin When I awoke today, suddenly nothing happened But in my dreams, I slew the dragon And down this beaten path, and up this cobbled lane I'm walking in my old footsteps, once again And you say, just be here now Forget about the past, your mask is wearing thin Let me throw one more dice I know that I can win I'm waiting for my real life to begin Any minute now, my ship is coming in I'll keep checking the horizon And I'll check my machine, there's sure to be that call It's gonna happen soon, soon, soon It's just that times are lean And you say, be still my love Open up your heart, let the light shine in Don't you understand I already have a plan I'm waiting for my real life to begin |

What a beautiful song! He has such an interesting voice! I loved "Men At Work"! This one was my favorite.....and it seems really appropriate to "stumble" upon it again tonight, thanks to you, buddie. It seems to speak to what I am going through, and my sister is going through....and, I suppose, many of us are going through...... Overkill "In the end, only kindness matters."

buddie, simply type \newurl} (without the red arrow, of course); then, paste the entire url for the video, followed by a comma, then type the text you want (like my word "Overkill" above, or a whole string of words, whatever you want), and then type a close bracket } (again, without the red arrow!) Use no spaces! That posts the link so it opens in a new window when someone clicks on it. That is easier to describe, than to describe how to use the hyperlink button above. Hope that helps! DAY-UM!!! Sometimes, I think I must be a man in a woman's body. If it weren't for some of the things that make me really "girly", I would REALLY wonder. I also wonder if you are my lost sibling....or something..... Yes, I most definitely (ha ha pun intended!!!) DO like that song, fort! I am not opposed to all rap! This is a perfect example of rap I can appreciate. I think you know that I like Eminem, as well....although, I don't know enough of his music to say that I like all of it. As a result of you posting this, I have been doing some listening to a few rappers on youtube tonight (this morning). Like Immortal Technique. I don't like everything I am hearing from these artists.....but, so far, I am not ready to throw their message out, due to a few things they say that bother me. For example, the video below has one line that offends me. It made me wince, and say (to the screen ), "Oh, Man, you have my attention, now why'd you have to go and offend me?" But.....I found myself getting really worked up, listening to this video (below), and the one you posted. Point Of No Return WHEW! "In the end, only kindness matters."

September is always a difficult month for me personally because my husband Ted died on the 13th of the month and my son Trent died on the 23rd of the month. I dedicate these songs in memory of them. My apologies if they have been posted previously: For Ted--Sand and Water. For Trent--Tears In Heaven. |

miaree...these songs are beautiful. I didn't know you had a son that died. You've been through so much. I don't know what to say...(hug) I must create a system, or be enslaved by another man's. ~William Blake

Thanks for sharing these offerings Miaree9. Except for appearances, one does not go from place to place.

Fix You When you try your best but you don't succeed When you get what you want but not what you need When you feel so tired but you can't sleep Stuck in reverse When the tears come streaming down your face When you lose something you can't replace When you love someone but it goes to waste Could it be worse? Lights will guide you home And ignite your bones And I will try to fix you High up above or down below when you're too in love to let it go If you never try you'll never know Just what you're worth Lights will guide you home And ignite your bones And I will try to fix you Tears stream down your face When you lose something you cannot replace Tears stream down your face and I Tears stream down your face I promise you I will learn from my mistakes Tears stream down your face and I Lights will guide you home And ignite your bones And I will try to fix you "In the end, only kindness matters."

Dialogue by Chicago Are you optimistic 'bout the way that things are going? No, I never ever think of it at all. Don't you ever worry when you see what's going down? Well, I try to mind my business, that is, no business at all. When it's time to function as a feeling human being, will your bachelor of arts help you get by? I hope to study further, a few more years or so. I also hope to keep a steady high. Will you try to change things with the power that you have, the power of a million new ideas? What is this power you speak of and the need to make a change? I always thought that everything was fine. Don't you feel repression just closing in around? No, the campus here is very, very free. Don't it make you angry the way war is dragging on? Well, I hope the president knows what he's into, I don't know. Don't you see starvation in the city where you live? All the needless hunger? all the needless pain? I haven't been there lately, the country is so fine. My neighbors don't seem hungry cause they haven't got the time. Thank you for the talk, you know you really eased my mind. I was troubled by the shapes of things to come. Well, if you had my outlook, your feelings would be numb. You'd always think that everything was fine. We can make it better We can make it better We can make it better Yeah, Yeah, Yeah We can change the world now We can change the world now We can change the world now We can save the children We can save the children We can save the children Yeah, Yeah, Yeah We can make it happen We can make it happen We can make it happen We can make it happen We can save the children We can save the children We can save the children Yeah, Yeah, Yeah We can make it happen We can make it happen We can make it happen We can make it happen Yeah We can make it happen We can make it happen Yeah We can make it happen We can make it happen Yeah We can make it happen We can make it happen Yeah We can make it happen We can make it hap........... One extreme to another...... Fall Free What's the use of worrying If we'll be here tomorrow All we need to be is here today Don't care if you're rich Or if you have to beg and borrow You can always find a way Dive and breakaway Fall free Freedom's in the air It's calling you Your heart is there Fall free Blaze across the sky The perfect fall The perfect high Mother earth looks peaceful As we climb towards the ceiling We must be ten thousand feet or more Hear the windrush screaming While we fight to curb our feelings As we stand beside the door Let our spirits soar Fall free Freedom's in the air It's calling you Your heart is there Fall free Blaze across the sky The perfect fall The perfect high I Can't Look Down Another passenger "Your baggage thank you sir" I don't wanna go What am I doing here I feel so sick with fear God don't let it show I must control myself You must control me too Cover my eyes cause I'm so high I can't look down I'm scared to fly and I'm so high I can't look down They say they'll care for me But I would rather be Both feet on the ground What if the engine dies These are no Friendly Skies' My head's spinning round It's all a twist of fate But it's myself I hate Cover my eyes cause I'm so high I can't look down Afraid to fly and I'm so high I can't look down I must control myself You must control me too Cover my eyes cause I'm so high I can't look down Afraid to fly and I'm so high I can't look down I can't look down..... Working man Lyric It’s a working man l am And I’ve been down under ground And I swear to God if ever see the sun Or for any length of time I can hold it in my mind I never again will go down under ground At the age of sixteen years Oh he quarrels with his peers Who vowed they’d never see another one In the dark recess of the mines Where you age before your time And the coal dust lies heavy on your lungs Chorus At the age of sixty-four Oh he'll greet you at the door And he'll gently lead you by the arm Through the dark recess of the mines Oh he'll take you back in time And he'll tell you of the hardships that were had Chorus (Repeat Chorus) (Repeat Chorus) God I never again will go down under ground |

If you have a slow connection, let the video start, then pause it and let it load all the way before you play it. Otherwise, it "hangs up" or whatever you call it. It's worth the wait! They did a good job of matching images to lyrics! Red Barchetta My uncle has a country place That no one knows about He says it used to be a farm Before the Motor Law And on Sundays I elude the eyes And hop the Turbine Freight To far outside the Wire Where my white-haired uncle waits Jump to the ground As the Turbo slows to cross the borderline Run like the wind As excitement shivers up and down my spine Down in his barn My uncle preserved for me an old machine For fifty odd years To keep it as new has been his dearest dream I strip away the old debris That hides a shining car A brilliant red Barchetta From a better vanished time I fire up the willing engine Responding with a roar Tires spitting gravel I commit my weekly crime Wind In my hair Shifting and drifting Mechanical music Adrenaline surge... Well-weathered leather Hot metal and oil The scented country air Sunlight on chrome The blur of the landscape Every nerve aware Suddenly ahead of me Across the mountainside A gleaming alloy air car Shoots towards me, two lanes wide I spin around with shrieking tires To run the deadly race Go screaming through the valley As another joins the chase Drive like the wind Straining the limits of machine and man Laughing out loud with fear and hope I've got a desperate plan At the one-lane bridge I leave the giants stranded at the riverside Race back to the farm To dream with my uncle at the fireside (Rush) Gives me major goosebumps! "In the end, only kindness matters."

Let The Mystery Be by Iris Dement Everybody's wonderin' what and where they all came from. Everybody's worryin' 'bout where they're gonna go when the whole thing's done. But no one knows for certain and so it's all the same to me. I think I'll just let the mystery be. Some say once you're gone you're gone forever, and some say you're gonna come back. Some say you rest in the arms of the Saviour if in sinful ways you lack. Some say that they're comin' back in a garden, bunch of carrots and little sweet peas. I think I'll just let the mystery be. Everybody's wonderin' what and where they all came from. Everybody's worryin' 'bout where they're gonna go when the whole thing's done. But no one knows for certain and so it's all the same to me. I think I'll just let the mystery be. Some say they're goin' to a place called Glory and I ain't saying it ain't a fact. But I've heard that I'm on the road to purgatory and I don't like the sound of that. Well, I believe in love and I live my life accordingly. But I choose to let the mystery be. Everybody's wonderin' what and where they all came from. Everybody's worryin' 'bout where they're gonna go when the whole thing's done. But no one knows for certain and so it's all the same to me. I think I'll just let the mystery be. I think I'll just let the mystery be. Let The Mystery Be. When P. L. Travers said to "lie in the lap of the Goddess," I think this is what she meant. |
