The faeries are all in colored pencil. The river is an oil painting and the cartoon is pen and ink. Humans believe they are devils pretending to be angels when, in fact, the reverse is true.

Wow!! We are definitely graced with an artistic group of people! Most impressive. You know i haven't sat down and drawn for ages - not seriously since my 20's. Lately, i'm focusing on composing a CD of lullabies for children (and big kids). It's a slow, painstaking process, but when completed (someday far from now) i will provide access to the music. Please provide more! Beautiful art is like yummy chocolate - i just can't get enough! haha! BTW Susi, where is the blue jay (?) feather you mentioned finding in your mailbox (on another thread)? Is that incorporated into some art somewhere? I agree about the smell of oil paints. I get all cozy inside when i smell that smell as it reminds me of my mom and her toll painting she did during my childhood. She was always relaxed and happy when she painted. Just for fun: "Tone" into the toilet bowl while you're cleaning it.

Sooze, you'd be surprised at what I can't do in art. Even with paint by numbers I can't promise not to go over the lines! Regina, I look forward to hearing your cd. The concept has won me over already. Diagonally parked between two parallel universes.

regina did you write the lullabyes or are they a collection of your favorites? i have a tape of lullabyes from different tribes. even though i can't understand their tongue, you can tell their for children from the lilt and feel of it. actually, i was at an art show and found a small colored pen and ink of a blue jay feather. of course i had to have it. |

The lullabies are coming from my heart, so (as far as i know) they are all originals. My youngest listened to the first one i made last night and loved it, and i took that as the highest compliment. I told her that she and the other kids will definitely have singing roles to play in some of them which tickled her pink. Just for fun: "Tone" into the toilet bowl while you're cleaning it.

Yes, there will be some singing (humming's a good idea, too), some instrumental. I have a songwriting program in my computer that works like an in-home recording studio, along with an electronic keyboard, so there will be a variety of sounds. I'd also like to incorporate the crystal bowls into the music here and there. The sax may be in them, but because it tends towards a harsher tone it'll have to be buried under some other instruments with some nice effects added. Just for fun: "Tone" into the toilet bowl while you're cleaning it.

Oo! Susi, do you sell prints of your stuff online or anywhere? I love your paintings! I will take some pictures of the scribbles I did for art classes in college and post a link to them later. I don't really have anything current to show, but sharing stuff in a forum like this can be inspiring. |

Alrighty... Here's some of my stuff. I'm running on the Mac OS 8.6, here, soooo it doesn't work with all the features on the site they're posted on. Some of the pictures are on their sides, unfortunately. (Yes I know Photobucket has huge buttons that say "rotate picture" on them, leave me and my ancient 'puter alone) Oh! These are from college, so some of them are studies out of a textbook (I'll note which ones). I do not normally draw like Leonardo da Vinci. Some ceramic head studies to start off... Another sculpture this time in foam board. Two color textbook studies textbook study on faces and mouths figure piece from an actual person Another model textbook color study..... lying on it's side. Another sideways piece from a model Third and last sideways piece from a model. Cheap thrills with nudity! A watercolor! I like watercolor, but I haven't used it much. My only stone sculpture It is a happy tortoise.... That's supposed to be its mouth open in a huge grin or something. A scribble of a dubious-looking character and his upside-down accomplice. Another rogue's gallery sketch and my God, what was I smoking when I drew those arms. Jesus. A final sketch. He is obviously up to something. I don't even know if I drew this but I giggled when I found it in my portfolio. Maybe that was my original intent. |

"the 3 women are 'warriors'. LOL" Okay, I'm piecing this together, like, hours and hours later. You mean those are dudes? Alas, I am fully aware of the problem of being a dude falsely identified as a dudette based on having long hair (er, from a considerable distance, I should say). Still, at least it didn't happen in real life. I probably won't get beaten up by three men, now..... I'm pushing my desk up against the door just in case, though. |

i just popped in to add a few more paintings. stephanie spent the day with me and showed me how to use my digital camera and stick the photos into this machine. i took the pics so of course they're blurry. and for some reason they look faded. i use bright and vivid colors so i don't know what happened. but she said we'd have a 'do over' at a later date. but for now, enjoy: http://www.boomspeed.com/srflynn/SusisArtwork.html |

OOh, yeah, Susi. You really DID add more photos. I truly and deeply love all your work, but the crows !..... Very awesome, and the wolf! My youngest daugher has a deep afinity for wolves. She has spent hours drawing them, saving desktop pictures of them, etc. So, what would you charge for any of those mentioned above? Tigers can daze you and make you pass out with their 11hz growl !

WOW! Tell her that her artwork is absolutely awesome! If she's willing to consider selling some of her items, i would like to know what she would charge for each of the following: the little crow in armor (one on the right in photo), the little box with the wolf on the front, and the picture of the man (?) standing sideways with the cat resting on his left shoulder and the owl sitting down low. Thanks so much, Susi. Tigers can daze you and make you pass out with their 11hz growl !

I love all this stuff. Really beautiful. As far as how often one does a painting-for me it comes in spurts. I start to get into it, working every day, then life interferes (recently, the flood). I stop for a while, then go on. Right now I have three oil paintings and one drawing I am in the middle of, but we are trying to finish the house so my head is not in the right place. Hopefully-this winter I will be able to get back into my routine. I want to have prints made in the future when I finish the faerie series, but that will be a while. Susi, I love the portraits. Your work is so real, it touches me. Thank you for letting us view it. Humans believe they are devils pretending to be angels when, in fact, the reverse is true.

aw kathy, you're a sweetie. i'm like you. it comes in spurts. i may go for months without lifting a brush, then sit down and paint one after another until i have about 10-12 finished. then i'm 'painted out' and go on to something else. |

Susi, What size are the two Coyote/Wolf paintings? They felt like Coyote, but may be Wolf. Are the black birds Crows, Raven, what kind? Depending on size, I am very interested in them. I have very little wall space left. Thanks....

the first one is a wolf-multi-colored with the moon. it's 9x12. the other multi-colored one toward the end is coyote but i'm afraid it sold. the lone blackbird with a greenish/gold background is 8x10. the one with the double moon against red with 3 crows is already spoken for. |

I am a novice in art...no formal training. I did take some workshops at Beartooth School of Art in Bozeman. I just have about 6 completed pieces. I am sure it is no surprise but I just do wildlife art. I haven't done many. I work mostly with pencil, but as you can see from my first watercolor, Eagle, I am trying to get there too. Since I am feeling better, after the New Year I hope to start drawing again. I am trying to get a collection of Daniel Smith's PrimaTek® natural watercolors to use for the color ones. anyhoo...here's the link: http://www.animalspirits.com/art.html

Susi, Thanks! I want to just use those natural pigment watercolors and make them a bit more spiritual. I still have a few more to get. I'm working on it.... Understand that all things are sacred--yet nothing is sacred. ~Yotee Coyote
