My all time favorite song
:-)

http://yme.ca.music.yahoo.com/ymeNav/ymu/song/26490469
(for yahoo music engine if you have it )

Enya

Amarntine

You know when you give your love away
It opens your heart,
everything is new.
And you know time will always find a way
to let your heart believe it's true.

You know love is everything you say;
a whisper, a word,
promises you give.
You feel it in the heartbeat of the day.
You know this is the way love is.

Chorus
Amarantine...
Amarantine...
Amarantine...
Love is love is love

You know love may sometimes make you cry,
so let the tears go,
they will flow away,
for you know love will always let you fly
-how far a heart can fly away!

Chorus

You know when love's
shining in your eyes
it may be the stars
falling from above.
And you know love
is with you when you rise,
for night and day belong to love.

hey janey thanks for the link ill look in to it. ya hoo and my computer donít get along though, but ill try it.

your song reminds me of an oldie but not moldy.

And now the purple dusk of twilight time
Steals across the meadows of my heart
High up in the sky the little stars climb
Always reminding me that were apart

You wander down the lane and far away
Leaving me a song that will not die
Love is now the stardust of yesterday
The music of the years gone by

Sometimes I wonder why I spend
The lonely night dreaming of a song
The melody haunts my reverie
And I am once again with you
When our love was new
And each kiss an inspiration
But that was long ago
Now my consolation
Is in the stardust of a song

Beside a garden wall
When stars are bright
You are in my arms
The nightingale tells his fairy tale
A paradise where roses bloom
Though I dream in vain
In my heart it will remain
My stardust melody
The memory of loves refrain

Put down by Nat king Cole the only version that is valid. Don't even start with the Sinatra version. It don't compare. But there is an orchestral version with a vocal harmony group that is excellent, but I cant remember the who it was, they did a version of deep purple that is amazing too. Maybe some 30s 40s music fans could help me out here.

Swingtown

By: Steve Miller and Chris McCarty
Ooo oooohhhh
Ooo oooohhhh
Come on and dance, come on and dance
Let's make some romance
You know the night is fallin'
And the music's callin'
And we've got to get down to Swingtown
We've been workin' so hard
We've been workin' so hard
Come on baby
Come on baby let's dance
Come on, come on, come on
Come on, come on, come on
Come on, come on, come on
Ooo oooohhhh
Ooo oooohhhh
Come on and dance, come on and dance
We may not get another chance
You know the night is fallin'
And the music's callin'
And we've got to get down to Swingtown

Just felt the spirit and the dance I remember with my friends

I get up in the evening, and I aint got nothing to say
I come home in the morning, I go to bed feeling the same way
I aint nothing but tired, man Im just tired and bored with myself
Hey there baby, I could use just a little help

You cant start a fire, you cant start a fire without a spark
This guns for hire even if were just dancing in the dark

Message keeps getting clearer, radios on and Im moving round the place
I check myself out in the mirror I wanna change my clothes my hair my face
Man I aint getting nowhere just sitting in a dump like this
Theres something happening somewhere baby I just know that there is

You cant start a fire...

You sit around getting older theres a joke here somewhere and its on me
Ill shake this world off my shoulders come baby this laughs on me

Stay on the streets of this town and theyll be carving you up alright
They say you got to stay hungry hey baby Im just about starving tonight
Im dying for some action Im sick of sitting round here trying to write
This book
I need a love reaction come on now baby give me just one look

You cant start a fire..

4 legs the freakiest part a bit confusing though, I was not afraid. you by now know whatís going on What is that they said when I got here welcome to the grid. We are in many places living different walks of life. Fear keeps us apart, except one she is a real good friend, and deserving of better

Ps id rather sort out the metaphysical first but that cant happen without real time communication of some sort

But I aint holding my breath. Peace it was lovely.

When You asked how I've been here without you
I'd like to say I've been fine and I do.
But we both know the truth is hard to come by
And if I told the truth that's not quite true

Some days are diamonds some days are stones
Sometimes the hard times won't leave me alone
Sometimes a cold wind blows a chill in my bones
Some days are diamonds some days are stones.

Now the face that I see in my mirror
More and more is a stranger to me
More and more I can see there's a danger
In becoming what I never thought I'd be

Some days are diamonds some days are stones
Sometimes the hard times won't leave me alone
Sometimes a cold wind blows a chill in my bones
Some days are diamonds some days are stones.

Some days are diamonds some days are stones
Sometimes the hard times won't leave me alone
Sometimes a cold wind blows a chill in my bones
Some days are diamonds some days are stones.

But some days are diamonds and those are the ones I cherish.

Crosby Stills Nash & Young - Anything At All

Anything you want to know, just ask me.
I'm the world's most opinionated man.
I'll give you an answer if I can.
Catch one passing through
That feels right for you.

Anything you want to know, just ask me.
It's worth every cent it costs,
And you know it's free for you.
Special deal!

Anything you want to know?
It should be perfectly clear!
You see, just beneath the surface of the mud,
There's more mud here...
Surprise!

Is there anything you want to know,
On any subject at all?
I've got time for one more question here,
Before I fall.
Is there anything at all?
"In the end, only kindness matters."

Tupelo Honey..

You can take
All the tea in China
Put it in a big brown
Bag for me

Sail right round
All the seven oceans
Drop it streight into
The deep blue sea

chorus..
She's as sweet
As Tupelo Honey
Shes an angel
Of the first degree
She's as sweet as Tupelo Honey
just like honey babe
From the Bee

You can't stop us
On the road to freedom
You can't keep us
'cause our eyes can see

Men with insight
Men with granite eyes
Knights in armor
Bent on chivalry

She's as sweet
As Tupelo Honey
She's an angel
Of the first Degree...

repeat verses 1-3 and 4
then chorus ..
Van the Man :-)

buddie.....Van makes me feel so mellow and happy! One of my all-time faves!

About the Metallica song(s)....I thought about it, but I guess I thought that this thread was supposed to be about "feel-good" songs!??

I admit I have not read this entire thread, but it mostly seems like only positive lyrics are asked for?

But.....since it's YOU who asked me to post the Metallica lyrics, I will do so!!!

I mean, after all.....songs that explore darker emotions/subjects, can be "good & juicy songs for the psyche", as well!

(And by the way, I know it's not correct "form" or whatever, but I like to use punctuation marks.)

I will post lyrics to TWO Metallica songs, since I am not sure which one you are asking for. They both resonate for me, relative to the issues of abuse/mind control.

The first one, I relate it to two different (yet similar, IMO) things: Addiction, and the presence of violent alter personalities.

UNTIL IT SLEEPS

Where do I take this pain of mine?
I run, but it stays right my side.

So, tear me open, pour me out!
There's things inside that scream and shout!
And the pain still hates me,
So hold me, until it sleeps.

Just like a curse, just like a stray;
You feed it once, and now it stays.

So, tear me open, but beware!
There's things inside without a care!
And the dirt still stains me,
So wash me, until I'm clean.

It grips you, so hold me!
It stains you, so hold me!
It hates you, so hold me!
It holds you, so hold me,
Until it sleeps.

So tell me why you've chosen me?
Don't want your grip, don't want your greed!
Don't want it!

I'll tear me open, make you gone!
No more can you hurt anyone!
And the fear still shakes me,
So hold me, until it sleeps.

I don't want it,
want it, want it!
NO!

So tear me open, but beware!
This thing's inside without a care!
And the dirt still stains me,
So wash me, 'till I'm clean...

I'll tear me open, make you gone!
No longer will you hurt anyone!
And the fear still shapes me,
So hold me, until it sleeps...

HERO OF THE DAY

Mama, they try and break me.

The window burns
to light the way back home;
A light that warms,
no matter where they've gone!

They're off to find
the hero of the day!
But what if they should fall
by someone's wicked way?

Still the window burns,
Time so slowly turns,
And someone there is sighing.

Keepers of the flames,
Do you feel your name?
Did you hear your babies crying?

Mama they try and break me.
Still, they try and break me.

Excuse me, while I tend
to how to feel
These things return to me
that still seem real!

And now, deservingly,
this easy chair!
But the rocking's stopped
by wheels of despair!

Don't want your aid,
But the fist I've made
for years can't hold off fear!

No, I'm not all "me",
so please excuse me
while I tend to how I feel!!

And now the dreams,
and waking screams,
that everlast the night.....

So build a wall,
behind it, crawl,
and hide until it's light....
So can't you hear your babies crying now?

Still, the window burns,
time so slowly turns,
and someone there is sighing!

Keepers of the flames,
Can't you hear your names?
Can't you hear your babies crying??

But now, the dreams,
and waking screams,
That everlast the night.....

So build a wall,
Behind it, crawl,
And hide until it's light....
So can't you hear your babies crying now?

Mama THEY try and break me.
Mama they TRY and break me.
Mama they try and BREAK me
Mama they try,
Mama they try.
Mama they try and break me!
Mama they try and break me!
Mama they try and break me!
Mama they try
Mama they try.....
Mama!

She Broke her promise

On a summer day in 1943
In a little church,with just
close fam-i-ly

Two Lovers vowed
with young and tender Hearts
to have - to hold - till death do they part

As the years roll by
They saw their children grown
Oh he always said
If one of us is left alone
Lets promise that
We'll marry someone new
He promised her and she promised him too

.......CHORUS..........

But she broke her promise
She never wanted another
'cause there's just no other
Who could ever come close..

There memories to-gether
Will last her for Ever
She broke her promise
She made so long - a-go
..............................

Now she keeps busy
Living all alone
In a little house
That memories made a home
And the Kids drop by
To visit when they can
But only God Knows how much
She Miss'es her man

She Broke her promise
She never wanted another
'Cause there's just no other
Who could follow her Man

Their Memories Together
Will Last her forever
she broke her promise
But she knows he understands!

My good friend, Pete, turned me onto this band in the past few weeks. If you get a chance buy/download their tunes, you won't regret it.....

Aqualung

"Can't get you out of my mind"

"A kiss is not just a kiss
A smile is more than a smile
Maybe we get together
Maybe forever
Maybe just for a while

I've seen the look in your eye
I've seen you wondering why
There's a centre of gravity
Brings you near to me
Nearer all the time

And I'm petrified
Hypnotised
Every time you walk by
And I can't get you
Out of my
Mind

Thought you'd never be mine
I thought I was wasting my time
Darling every time I think of you
I can't believe it's true
That you're here by my side

And I'm petrified
Hypnotised
Every time you walk by
And I'm petrified
Hypnotised
Every time you walk by
And I can't get you
Out of my
Mind"

and then there's "Brighter Than Sunshine"

"I never understood before
I never knew what love was for
My heart was broke, my head was sore
What a feeling

Tied up in ancient history
I didnt believe in destiny
I look up you're standing next to me
What a feeling

What a feeling in my soul
Love burns brighter than sunshine
Brighter than sunshine
Let the rain fall, i don't care
I'm yours and suddenly you're mine
Suddenly you're mine
and it's brighter than sunshine

I never saw it happening
I'd given up and given in
I just couldn't take the hurt again
What a feeling

I didn't have the strength to fight
suddenly you seemed so right
Me and you
What a feeling

What a feeling in my soul
Love burns brighter than sunshine
It's brighter than sunshine
Let the rain fall, I don't care
I'm yours and suddenly you're mine
Suddenly you're mine

It's brighter than the sun
It's brighter than the sun
It's brighter than the sun, sun, shine.

Love will remain a mystery
But give me your hand and you will see
Your heart is keeping time with me

What a feeling in my soul
Love burns brighter than sunshine
It's brighter than sunshine
Let the rain fall, I don't care
I'm yours and suddenly you're mine
Suddenly you're mine

I got a feeling in my soul ..."

Ľ B-52S, THE Ľ Topaz
New cities by the sea
Skyscrapers are winking
Some hills are never seen
The universe expanding

We're gazing out to sea
Blue dolphins are singing
Minds swim in ecstasy
Clear planet, ever free

Topaz
Our hearts are traveling faster
Faster than the speed of love
Straight through a tear in the clouds
Up to the heavens above

Bright ships will sail the seas
Starfishes are spinning
Some hills are never seen
Our universe is expanding
Moonrise upon the sea
Starships are blinking
We'll walk in ecstasy
Clear planet blue and green

Topaz
Our thoughts are traveling faster
Moving beyond the heavens above

Planets pulsating, constellations creating
Voices are guiding me to the cities by the sea
Yes I see the cities by the sea

Deep forests by the sea
Skyscrapers are winking
Some hills are never seen
The universe is expanding
Topaz

This one has been on my mind lately is all, nice thought at any rate

Thanks for the kind words, John. I hadn't left UC, just been reading from the sidelines as so much is going on in my life. I also got mightily put off by the atmosphere in certain threads and needed a little time out from it. Hope all is well.

as well as to be expected i gues, pretty good actually. any way glad your around. its been a battle though your right one day i hope that every one comes to an understanding. so much distrust here sometimes. but i asume that is all part of it like we have to walk through the fire. seems that to learn, for me my only reason for staying actually, we have to be cautious of what others are learing or believe and how to rectify the 2 or more thought forms. for me the whole experience has taken a turn in the learning and i think some get put off by it but i just want answers to mysteries without the atacks and mind games some feel the need to play. sad really if you think about it. but we get up and dust ourslves off and polish our armor and go again. for we wake to a new day and why waste it.

anyway pop in more often when you can. it does sound as if you have been ocupied. and ill check that band out that you sujested.

When I was a young buck
I tried to be liked by
Everyone
Everyone
I tried so hard to be funny and nice
I tried so hard to be sugar and spice
Didn't work for me
Got old quickly

But now I'm not losing sleep at night
No one's calling me on the telephone
To see if I'm at home
Cause now I've got everything that I have ever wanted
or so it seems
Yeah so it seems yeah

You don't
Have to
Like me
Anymore
I've got money now
I don't care
What you say
About me
Anymore
I've got money now

When I got a little older
I realized
It's all lies
There is no prize
There is no prize
There is no heartache if you can afford
Everything delivered right to your door
No responsibilities
This life is easy

So now girl with everything
How could she complain
Cause she's got it made
Yeah she's got it made
I don't need to be tucked in at night
Told that everything is gonna be alright
Is gonna be alright
Cause I don't have to fight

You don't
Have to
Like me
Anymore
I've got money now
I don't care
What you say
About me
Anymore
I've got money now

I wouldn't trade a dollar for some sense
I wouldn't trade a lifetime for some friends
I've got everything
And all is what it seems

I worked so hard all of my life
Just to have things I could call mine
I don't need no love
Cause I have got enough

So now I don't mind being alone all the time
It's alright
I've got money now
That's what it's all about
And I'm so busy buying things and traveling
I don't have time for friends
Or family
And that's fine with me
Or so it seems

You don't
Have to
Like me
Anymore
I've got money now
I don't care
What you say
About me
Anymore
I've got money now

You don't
Have to
Like me
Anymore
I've got money now
I don't care
What you say
About me
Anymore
Cause I've got money now

here's a real cheerful one...great song for expressing angst though:

Black - Pearl Jam

Sheets of empty canvas, untouched sheets of clay
Were laid spread out before me, as her body once did
All five horizons revolved around her soul
As the earth to the sun
Now the air I tasted and breathed has taken a turn
Ooh, and all I taught her was everything
Ooh, I know she gave me all that she wore
And now my bitter hands chafe beneath the clouds
Of what was everything?
Oh, the pictures have all been washed in black, tattooed everything...

I take a walk outside
I'm surrounded by some kids at play
I can feel their laughter, so why do I sear
Oh, and twisted thoughts that spin round my head
I'm spinning, oh, I'm spinning

How quick the sun can, drop away
And now my bitter hands cradle broken glass
Of what was everything?
All the pictures have all been washed in black, tattooed everything...
All the love gone bad turned my world to black
Tattooed all I see, all that I am, all I'll ever be...yeah...

I know someday you'll have a beautiful life, I know you'll be a star
In somebody else's sky, but why
Why, why can't it be, why can't it be mine

I'm sitting hear with an old Dinah Washington album cracking and popping on the turn table. Damn she has a fine voice....good psyche music...for tonight at least. Maybe it just the vinyl that does it for me.

Skeptic, I LOVE Dinah Washington, and all the other "Great Ladies of Jazz"!

Oh, and I STILL love my massive quantities of vinyl!!!!!

Although, I have to admit how SPOILED I have become to not having to get up and flip the record!!!

They say were young and we don't know
won't find out until we grow

Well I don't know if all thats true
cause you got me and baby I got you

Babe
I got you babe..I got you babe

They say our love won't pay the rent
before it's earned our moneys all been spent

I guess thats so we don't have a pot ,but at
least I'm sure of all the things we got

Babe
I got you babe I got you babe

I got flowers in the spring I got you to wear
my ring.
And when I'm sad your a clown and if I get
scared your always around..

So let them say your hairs too long cause I
don't care with you I can't go wrong
Then put your little hand in mine there ain't
no hill or mountain we can't climb

Babe
I got you babe I got you babe

I got you to hold my hand
I got you to understand
I got you to walk with me
I got you to talk with me
I got you to kiss goodnight
I got you to hold me tight
I got you I won't let go
I got you to love me so

I got you Babe..I got you Babe

this is a beautiful song...some of the phrases kinda get me choked up (although I don't think the emotions that I'm feeling have anything to do with the original meaning of the song)

Paul Simon - American Tune

Many's the time i've been mistaken
And many times confused
Yes, and often felt forsaken
And certainly misused

Oh, but i'm alright, i'm alright
I'm just weary to my bones

Still, you don't expect to be
Bright and bon vivant
So far a-way from home, so far away from home

I don't know a soul who's not been battered
I don't have a friend who feels at ease
I don't know a dream that's not been shattered
Or driven to its knees
Oh, but it's alright, it's alright
For we lived so well so long
Still, when i think of the
Road we're traveling on
I wonder what's gone wrong

And i dreamed i was dying
I dreamed that my soul rose unexpectedly
And looking back down at me
Smiled reassuringly
And i dreamed i was flying
And high up above my eyes could clearly see
The statue of liberty
Sailing away to sea
And i dreamed i was flying

We come on the ship they call the mayflower
We come on the ship that sailed the moon
We come in the a-ge's most uncertain hours
And sing an american tune

Oh, and it's alright, it's alright, it's alright
You can't be forever blessed

Still, tomorrow's going to be another working day
And i'm trying to get some rest
That's all i'm trying to get some rest
"...I have squandered my resistance for a pocketful of mumbles, such are promises.
All lies and jest - still, a man hears what he wants to hear, and disregards the rest."

MAN!!! Greasy, that brought tears to my eyes, and goose bumps all up and down my arms; both the lyrics from "American Song", and the partial lyrics from "The Boxer".

I recently inherited pristine vinyl copies of both "Bookends" and "Bridge Over Troubled Waters". I will cherish them always, as they replace my well-worn first AND second copies of both albums!

Now, I will just HAVE to go in the other room, and pull them out and put them on the turntable! That might be just the ticket for the motivation I need to get back to packing and moving!

Seems appropriate, to dredge up musical memories, as I dredge up memories in the process of packing!

Time it was and what a time it was it was,
A time of innocence a time of confidences.

Long ago it must be, I have a photograph
Preserve your memories, they're all that's left you.

"Other side of the World" - KT Tunstall

Over the sea and far away
She's waiting like an iceberg
Waiting to change
But she's cold inside
She wants to be like the water

All the muscles tighten in her face
Buries her soul in one embrace
They're one and the same
Just like water

The fire fades away
Most of everyday
Is full of tired excuses
But it's to hard to say
I wish it were simple
But we give up easily
You're close enough to see that
You're the other side of the world to me

On comes the panic light
Holding on with fingers and feelings alike
But the time has come
To move along

The fire fades away

Can you help me
Can you let me go
And can you still love me
When you can't see me anymore

The fire fades away
"...I have squandered my resistance for a pocketful of mumbles, such are promises.
All lies and jest - still, a man hears what he wants to hear, and disregards the rest."

It won't be fun waiting for the bus today
It's raining and Just plain Yuck this morning.
Needed a song that would stick in my head
for the bus ride :-)

This thing called love I just can't
handle it
this thing called love I must get
around to it
I ain't ready
Crazy little thing called love
This thing called love..called love

It cries like a baby
In a cradle all night
It swings..Woo Woo
It jives..Woo Woo
It shakes all over like a jelly fish
I kinda like it
Crazy little thing called love

There goes my baby
he knows how to rock n' roll
he drives me crazy
He gives me hot and cold fever
Then leaves he leaves me in a cool cool
sweat

I gotta be cool relax get hip
Get on my tracks
Take a back seat hitch hike
And take a long ride on my motor bike
Until I'm ready
Crazy little thing called love

This thing called love I just can't
handle it
this thing called love I must get
around to it
I ain't ready
Crazy little thing called love

Queen

here's one that I try to play on my guitar (while singing, even!) - slightly bitter lyrics, but overall it's good advice...

Hide Your Love Away - The Beatles

Here I stand, head in hand
Turn my face to the wall
If she's gone I can't go on
feeling two foot tall
Everywhere, people stare
each and every day
I can see them laugh at me,
and I hear them say:
Hey! You've got to hide your love away
Hey! You've got to hide your love away
How could she say to me:
Love will find a way
Gather 'round, all you clowns
Let me hear you say:
Hey! You've got to hide your love away
Hey! You've got to hide your love away

Yup, words to live by...
"...I have squandered my resistance for a pocketful of mumbles, such are promises.
All lies and jest - still, a man hears what he wants to hear, and disregards the rest."

When a party is winding down and
it's the dimming of the day!!
Thats one of my favourite acoustic songs.

Sounds like your "off" switch is "on"
so is mine. I believe it's all in the
timing..when we're ready crazy little
thing called love will be FUN AGAIN :-)

One more for the broken hearted....

Sting..Never coming Home

Well it's five in the morning and the
light's already broken.
And the rainy streets are empty for
nobody else has woken
Yet you turn towards the window as he
sleeps beneath the covers
And wonder what he's dreaming in his
slumbers

There's a clock upon the table and it's
burning up the hour
And you feel your life is shrinking like
the petals of a flower
As you creep towards the closet you're so
careful not to wake him
And you choose the cotton dress you bought
last summer

There's a time of indecision between the
bedroom and the door
But the part of you that knows that you
can't take it anymore
There's the promise of a future in the
creaking of the floor
And you're torn if you should leave him
a number

Now in her imagination she's a million
miles away
When too many of his promises got broken
on the way
So she wrote it in a letter all the things
she couldn't say
And she told him she was never coming home

Hello...you wanna cup of coffee?
I'm sorry, would you like a cup of coffee?
Ok you take cream and sugar?

In truck stops and hamburger joints
In Cadillac limousines
In the company of has-beens
And bent-backs and sleeping forms
On pavement steps
In libraries and railway stations
In books and banks
In the pages of history
In suicidal cavalry attacks
I recognise...
Myself in every stranger's eyes

And now from where I stand
Upon this hill I plundered from the pool
I look around, I search the skies
I shade my eyes, so nearly blind
And I see signs of half remembered days
I hear bells that chime in strange familiar ways
I recognise...
The hope you kindle in your eyes

It's oh so easy now
As we lie here in the dark
Nothing interferes it's obvious
How to beat the tears
That threaten to snuff out
The spark of our love

5.06 AM (Every Strangers Eyes)
Roger Waters
So ladies, fish and gentlemen
Hereís my angled dream
See me in the blue sky bag
And meet me by the sea

gee buddie, is it that obvious?
Yeah, I guess my 'off' switch is stuck in the 'on' position...I think with me, it's not so much the fun part of 'love' or the timing of finding it...the older I get, the more I realize that those chemical/social thrills that new 'love' brings are OK...but they pale in comparison to realizing the dream of your life.
I'm just mourning the loss of my dreams...eventually I'll get over it; probably about the time I get re-absorbed back into the restless sleepwalking and soulless drudgery of a meaningless rat-race existence.

But hey, enough of my gloominess - back to the tunes!

All lies and jest - still, a man hears what he wants to hear, and disregards the rest."

I wish I could find the rest of the lyrics so I could do a full spoof, but in lieu of that seemingly-never-to-be tune, a mere snippet:

"Greasy...gotcha CRA-a-A-zy!"
"To sit outside where gold leaves glide
Swirled azure eyes, autumn bits applied
Swift month's fled, but I am not bothered
October shall dwell in my heart forever"

Well, to counter all this anti-love stuff I gotta add a tune from an album I picked up today. Anyone remember Depeche Mode?

"I Feel You"

I feel you
Your sun it shines
I feel you
Within my mind
You take me there
You take me where
The kingdom comes
You take me to
And lead me through
Babylon

This is the morning of our love
Its just the dawning of our love

I feel you
Your heart it sings
I feel you
The joy it brings
Where heaven waits
Those golden gates
And back again
You take me to
And lead me through
Oblivion

This is the morning of our love
Its just the dawning of our love

I feel you
Your precious soul
And I am whole
I feel you
Your rising sun
My kingdom comes

I feel you
Each move you make
I feel you
Each breath you take
Where angels sing
And spread their wings
My loves on high
You take me home
To glorys throne
By and by

This is the morning of our love
Its just the dawning of our love

Just got home from an amazing gig, am singing along to the tune right now.

All I remember about Depeche Mode was the pre-Waxy mini-spoof I did of one of their songs:

"You'll be a eunuch
"So, which shall it be?
"A hacksaw from him or
"A big knife from me?"
"To sit outside where gold leaves glide
Swirled azure eyes, autumn bits applied
Swift month's fled, but I am not bothered
October shall dwell in my heart forever"

You're welcome, John. One more Depeche Mode tune to get the day started........

Stripped

Come with me
Into the trees
Well lay on the grass
And let the hours pass

Take my hand
Come back to the land
Lets get away
Just for one day

Let me see you
Stripped down to the bone
Let me see you
Stripped down to the bone

Metropolis
Has nothing on this
Youre breathing in fumes
I taste when we kiss

Take my hand
Come back to the land
Where everythings ours
For a few hours

Let me see you
Stripped down to the bone
Let me see you
Stripped down to the bone

Let me hear you
Make decisions
Without your television
Let me hear you speaking
Just for me

Let me see you
Stripped down to the bone

Let me hear you speaking
Just for me

Let me see you
Stripped down to the bone let me hear you crying
Just for me

Waxy, is that a spoof of People Are People? Sounds like it.......

Very observant of you, Miz "SharLr's Angels"!

My other "fave" bunch of Brits from that era were the "Human" League - they always looked more like vampires to me!

"Keep Craving Exsanguination" - The Undead League

If it seems our flesh is somewhat faded
Our urges to get laid
(Hey, hey, hey, heeey)
200 years can make one jaded
Especially in the grave

It's something like a soul infection
That makes us all this way
(Hey, hey, hey, heeey)
Think of it as reverse injection
With a bit of nookie-play

And so the casket-hinges turned
After the sun went down
And many hearts were yanked and burned
The next day

Keep craving exsanguination
Skin so pasty
Fangs so long
Keep craving exsanguination
Necking, biting,
Moving on

Well we hope we never meet Van Helsing
Like Bram Stoker told
(Hey, hey, hey, heeey)
'Cause we really like eternal living
Despite maggot-holes and mold

And so the casket-hinges turned
After the sun went down
And many hearts were yanked and burned
The next day

Keep craving exsanguination
Skin so pasty
Fangs so long
Keep craving exsanguination
Necking, biting,
Moving on

And so the casket-hinges turned
After the sun went down
And many hearts were yanked and burned
The next day

Keep craving exsanguination
Skin so pasty
Fangs so long
Keep craving exsanguination
Necking, biting,
Moving on

Keep craving exsanguination
Skin so pasty
Fangs so long
Keep craving exsanguination
Necking, biting,
Moving on.

Oh no waxy, lol. Thatís my favorite song of theirs. is nothing sacred anymore I was going to post that one actually. Man! some ones abilities are stepping up.

I can hear necromancy in it now that you mention it. Lol

But here is my fave depeche mode song. No I don't own any drag regalia or perform week ends in the bad part of town or take prenatal vitamins.

depeche mode - Blue Dress Lyrics
Put it on
And don't say a word
Put it on
The one that I prefer
Put it on
And stand before my eyes
Put it on
Please don't question why

Can you believe
Something so simple
Something so trivial
Makes me a happy man
Can't you understand
Say you believe
Just how easy
It is to please me

Because when you learn
You'll know what makes the world turn

Put it on
I can feel so much
Put it on
I don't need to touch
Put it on
Here before my eyes
Put it on
Because you realize
And you believe

Something so worthless
Serves a purpose
It makes me a happy man
Can't you understand
Say you believe
Just how easy
It is to please me

Because when you learn
You'll know what makes the world turn

I don't know this one is so pretty the way he sings it I just have to share it. Just sensual and mind altering. Passionate. Makes me feel loved.

Now I have people are people in my head. Cant you understand bada boomp boomp boomp.

Don't get the wrong idea, SharLr, I've never been anti-love...just pretty much empty, raw and numb at the moment and trying to get it out - better out than in, as they say.

There's a lesson somewhere in all of this...I keep hoping it's not "stop with the stupid dreams already" but something a bit easier to swallow like "just get a cat and forget about trying to interact with people" (yeah I know - I'm weird)

Woohoo on the amazing gig - nothing like good music and good times...
"...I have squandered my resistance for a pocketful of mumbles, such are promises.
All lies and jest - still, a man hears what he wants to hear, and disregards the rest."

here's one that always gives me chills - it was my wedding song, actually:

Into The Mystic - Van Morrison

We were born before the wind, also younger than the sun
Ere the bonnie boat was won as we sailed into the mystic
Hark, now hear the sailors cry, smell the sea and feel the sky
Let your soul and spirit fly into the mystic

And when that fog horn blows I will be coming home
And when that fog horn blows I want to hear it
I don't have to fear it
I want to rock your gypsy soul
Just like way back in the days of old
Then magnificently we will float into the mystic
And when that fog horn blows you know I will be coming home
And when thst fog horn whistle blows I got to hear it
I don't have to fear it
I want to rock your gypsy soul
Just like way back in the days of old
And together we will float into the mystic
Come on girl...
"...I have squandered my resistance for a pocketful of mumbles, such are promises.
All lies and jest - still, a man hears what he wants to hear, and disregards the rest."
