"Between the bars" by Elliott Smith

between the bars

drink up, baby, stay up all night
the things you could do, you won't but you might
the potential you'll be that you'll never see
the promises you'll only make
drink up with me now and forget all about the pressure of days
do what I say and I'll make you okay and drive them away
the images stuck in your head
people you've been before that you don't want around anymore
that push and shove and won't bend to your will
I'll keep them still
drink up, baby, look at the stars, I'll kiss you again
between the bars where I'm seeing you
there with your hands in the air waiting to finally be caught
drink up one more time and I'll make you mine
keep you apart deep in my heart separate from the rest
where I like you the best
and keep the things you forgot
the people you've been before that you don't want around anymore
that push and shove and won't bend to your will
I'll keep them still
Until humanity recognizes paradox as a definitive, the world shall know neither balance nor truth. http://www.kgppredicts.com

Pictures of me by Elliott Smith

start stop and start
stupid acting smart
flirting with the flicks
you say itís just for kicks
youíll be the victim of your own dirty tricks
you got yourself to tease and displease
doors swinging wide
you walked in to hide
looking at your feet
failureís complete
saw you and me on the coin-op tv
frozen in fear every time we appear
iím not surprised and really, why should i be?
see nothing wrong
see nothing wrong
so sick and tired of all these pictures of me
completely wrong
totally wrong
go walking by
here come another guy
jailer who sells personal hells
whoíd like to see me down on my f******* knees
everybodyís dying just to get the disease
hey hey hey hey
iím not surprised and really, why should i be?
see nothing wrong
see nothing wrong
so sick and tired of all these pictures of me
completely wrong
totally wrong
iím not surprised and really, why should i be?
see nothing wrong
see nothing wrong
so sick and tired of all these pictures of me
oh everybodyís dying just to get the disease
everybodyís dying just to get the disease
everybodyís dying just to get the disease
Until humanity recognizes paradox as a definitive, the world shall know neither balance nor truth. http://www.kgppredicts.com

speed trials by Elliott Smith

heís pleased to meet you underneath the horse
in the cathedral with the glass stained black
singing sweet high notes that echo back
to destroy their master
may be a long time til you get the call-up
but itís sure as fate and hard as your luck
no oneíll know where you are
itís just a brief smile crossing your face
running speed trials still standing in place
when the socketís not a shock enough
you little child what makes you think youíre tough
when all the people you think youíre above
they all know whatís the matter
youíre such a pinball yeah you know itís true
thereís always something you come back running to
to follow the path of no resistance
itís just a brief smile crossing your face
running speed trials standing in place
itís just a brief smile crossing your face
running speed trials all over the place

can't make a Sound by Elliott Smith

i have become a silent movie
the hero killed the clown
canít make a sound
canít make a sound
canít make a sound
nobody knows what heís doing
still hanging around
canít make a sound
canít make a sound
canít make a sound
canít make a sound
the slow motion moves me
the monologue means nothing to me
bored in the role, but he canít stop
standing up to sit back down
or lose the one thing found
spinning the world like a toy top
til thereís a ghost in every town
canít make a sound
canít make a sound
canít make a sound
canít make a sound
eyes locked and shining
canít you tell me whatís happening?
why should you want any other when youíre a world within a world?
why should you want any other when youíre a world within a world?
why should you want any other when youíre a world within a world?
why should you want any other when youíre a world within a world?

easy way out by Elliott Smith

youíll take advantage til you think youíre being used
cosí without an enemy your anger gets confused
i got stuck on the side you know i never chose
but itís all about taking the easy way out for you i suppose
thereís no escape for you except in someone else
although youíve already disappeared within yourself
the invisible man whoís always changing clothes
itís all about taking the easy way out for you i suppose
while i watch you making mistakes
i wish you luck, i really do
with the problem, with the puzzle
whateverís left of you
i heard you found another audience to bore
a creative thinker who imagined you were more
a new body for you to push around and pose
itís all about taking the easy way out for you i suppose
itís all about taking the easy way out for you i suppose

Everything means nothing to me by Elliott Smith

someone found the future as a statue in a fountain at
attention looking backward in a pool of water wishes with
a blue songbird on his shoulder who keeps singing over everything
everything means nothing to me
everything means nothing to me
everything means nothing to me
i picked up the song and found my picture in the paper the
reflection in the water showed an iron man still trying to
salute people from a time when he was everything heís supposed to be
everything means nothing to me
everything means nothing to me
everything means nothing to me
everything means nothing to me
Until humanity recognizes paradox as a definitive, the world shall know neither balance nor truth. http://www.kgppredicts.com

junk bond trader by Elliott Smith

the imitation picks you up like a habit
writing in the glow of the TV's static
taking out the trash to the man
give the people something they understand
a stickman flashing a fine line smile
junk bond trader trying to sell a sucker a style
rich man in a poor man's clothes
the permanent installment of the daily dose
and you tell off when you tell it like it is
your world's no wider than your hatred of his
checking into a small reality
boring as a drug you take too regularly
the athlete's laugh, the broken crutch
the first true love that folded at the slightest touch
brought down like an old hotel
people digging through the rubble for things they can resell
happy holidays said sick savior
the leaving lover that I still favor
I won't take your medicine, I don't need a remedy
to be everything I'm supposed to be
I don't want nobody else
I can do it by myself
we're meant to be together
now I'm a policeman directing traffic
keeping everything moving, everything static
I'm the hitchhiker you'll recognize passing
on your way to some everlasting
better sell it while you can
better sell it while you can
better sell it while you can
better sell it while you can

stupidity tries by elliott smith

got a foot in the door
god knows what for
and heíll cut me down to size
stupidity tries
everything here is free
everything but you and me
this painting never dries
stupidity tries
savannah shoulder raised a cheer coloring the sky with ash
because they found some privateer to sail across the sea of trash
the enemy is within
donít confuse me with him
the truth is otherwise
stupidity tries
and so i go from floor to floor looking for a port of call
another drunk conquistador conquering the governorís ball
i couldnít think of a thing
that I hope tomorrow brings
oh what a surprise
stupidity tries

fond farewell by elliott smith

The Lite Brite it's now black and white
you took apart a picture that wasnít right
bi*** burning on a shining sheet
the only maker that you want to meet
a dying man in a living room
whoís shadow paces the floor
whoíll take you out in the open door
this is not my life
itís just a fond farewell to a friend
itís not what iím like
itís just a fond farewell to a friend
who couldnít get things right
fond farewell to a friend
he said really i just wanna dance
good and evil matched perfect itís a great romance
i can deal with some psychic pain
if itíll slow down my higher brain
veins full of disappearing ink
vomiting in the kitchen sink
disconnected from the missing link
this is not my life
itís just a fond farewell to a friend
itís not what iím like
itís just a fond farewell to a friend
who couldnít get things right
fond farewell to a friend
i did'nt see you leaving me and taking up with the enemy
the cold comfort of the in between
a little less than a human being
a little less than a happy high
a little less than a suicide
the only things that you really tried
this is not my life
itís just a fond farewell to a friend
itís not what iím like
itís just a fond farewell to a friend
who couldnít get things right
fond farewell to a friend
this is not my life
itís just a fond farewell to a friend

memory lane by elliott smith

this is the place
youíll end up when
you lose the chase
where youíre dragged against your will
from a basement on the hill
and all anybody knows is
youíre not like them
and they kick you in the head
and send you back to bed
isolation pulled you pass a tunnel to a
bright world where you can make a place to stay
but everybodyís scared of this place
theyíre staying away
your little house on memory lane
the mayorís name is fear
his force patrols the pier
from a mountain of cliche
that advances everyday
the doctor spoke a cloud
he rained out loud
youíll keep your doors and windows shut
and swear youíll
never show a soul again
but isolation pushes you Ďtil every muscle aches
down the only road it ever takes
but everybodyís scared of this place
theyíre staying away
your little house on memory lane
if itís your decision
to be open about yourself
be careful or else
be careful or else
uncomfortable apart
itís all written on my chart
and i take whatís given to me
most cooperatively
i do what people say
and lie in bed all day
absolutely horrified
i hope youíre satisfied
isolation pushes past self hatred, guilt and shame
to a place where suffering is just a game
but everybodys scared of this place
theyíre staying away
your little house on memory lane
your little house on memory lane

Or maybe Iris Dement.....or some of the old Hank Williams....or even the Sons of the Pioneers....I guess it depends on where your psyche started in the first place...

Of course there is always Pink Floyd.....'is it only a dream that there'll be no more turning away?.......'

Krystal, thank you for sharing these lyrics.

You have awoken me to this artist's work. Extremely profound messages.

It broke my heart, but didn't surprise me, to learn, upon just googling him, that he committed suicide in 2003.

It would be/will be? interesting, to say the least, to learn of the "backstory" of his life....and death.

And I understand, I think, why you titled this thread the way you did.
"In the end, only kindness matters."

Many's the time I've been mistaken
And many times confused
yes, and I've often felt foresaken
and certainly misused.
Ah but I'm alright - I'm just weary to my bones
Still you can't expect to be bright and bon vivant
so far away from home.

And I don't know a soul who's not been battered
I don't have a friend who feels at ease
I don't know a dream that's not been shattered
or driven to its knees.

But it's alright - it's alright - for we've lived so well so long...
Still I think of the road we're travelin' on
and I wonder what went wrong.
I can't help it, I wonder what went wrong.

...and I dreamed I was dyin'
I dreamed that my soul rose
Unexpectedly
And lookin' back down at me, smiled assuringly.
- and I dreamed i was flying...
and high up above my eyes could clearly see
The Statue of Liberty
and I dreamed i was flyin'

We come on the ship they call The Mayflower
We come on the ship that sailed the Moon.
We come in the age's most uncertain hours
and sing an American tune
But it's alright, it's alright
You can be forever blessed
Still tomorrow's gonna be another working day
and I'm tryin' to get some rest, that's all.
I'm trying to get some rest.

-An American Tune
by Simon and Garfunkel

John Prine Anthology:

- I grew up on a 4 lane highway -
Lots of Trucks.Lots of Traffic.I used to have these spells every so often as a child.
The ceiling of the room was in normal
perspective, but the doorway would appear much further away than it was.Coupled with this
all noises seemed muffled and distant,
particularly the traffic moving on wet or snow
covered pavement.I Was Really in another world.
I finally worked up the courage to tell my mother & father about it.Mom and Dad took me to the
eye doctor.I love them Both.

Meet me in outer space.
We could spend the night; watch the earth come up.
I've grown tired of this place; won't you come with me?
We could start again.
How do you do it?
Make me feel like I do.
How do you do it?
It's better than I ever knew.
Meet me in outer space.
I will hold you close, if you're afraid of heights.
I need you to see this place, it might be the only way that I can show you how it feels to be inside of you.
How do you do it?
Make me feel like I do.
How do you do it?
It's better than I ever knew.
You are stellar.

Well my friends are gone and my hair is grey
I ache in the places where I used to play
And Im crazy for love but Im not coming on
Im just paying my rent every day
Oh in the tower of song

I said to hank williams: how lonely does it get?
Hank williams hasnt answered yet
But I hear him coughing all night long
A hundred floors above me
In the tower of song

I was born like this, I had no choice
I was born with the gift of a golden voice
And twenty-seven angels from the great beyond
They tied me to this table right here
In the tower of song

So you can stick your little pins in that voodoo doll
Im very sorry, baby, doesnt look like me at all
Im standing by the window where the light is strong
Ah they dont let a woman kill you
Not in the tower of song

Now you can say that Ive grown bitter but of this you may be sure
The rich have got their channels in the bedrooms of the poor
And theres a mighty judgement coming, but I may be wrong
You see, you hear these funny voices
In the tower of song

I see you standing on the other side
I dont know how the river got so wide
I loved you baby, way back when
And all the bridges are burning that we might have crossed
But I feel so close to everything that we lost
Well never have to lose it again

Now I bid you farewell, I dont know when Ill be back
There moving us tomorrow to that tower down the track
But youll be hearing from me baby, long after Im gone
Ill be speaking to you sweetly
From a window in the tower of song
Yeah my friends are gone and my hair is grey
I ache in the places where I used to play
And Im crazy for love but Im not coming on
Im just paying my rent every day
Oh in the tower of song

Once upon a time,
once when you were mine
I remember skies reflected in your eyes
I wonder where you are
I wonder if you think about it
Once upon a time in your wildest dreams...

Once the world was new
Our bodies felt the morning dew
that greets a brand-new day
We couldn't tear ourselves away
I wonder if you care, I wonder if you still remember, once upon a time
in your wildest dreams.

And when the music plays
and when the words are touched with sorrow
When the music plays
I hear the sound
I had to follow
Once upon a time

Once beneath the stars,
the Universe was ours
Love was all we knew, and all I knew was you
I wonder if you know
I wonder if you think about it
Once upon a time

In your wildest dreams.

And when the music plays
and when the words are touched with sorrow
When the music plays
I hear the sound
I had to follow
Once upon a time

Once upon a time,
once when you were mine
I remember skies reflected in your eyes
I wonder where you are
I wonder if you think about it
Once upon a time in your wildest dreams...

When the road gets dark
And you can no longer see
Just let my love throw a spark
And have a little faith in me
And when the tears you cry
Are all you can believe
Just give these loving arms a try
And have a little faith in me

Have a little faith in me
Have a little faith in me

And when your secret heart
Cannot speak so easily
Come here darling, from a whisper start
And have a little faith in me
And when your backís against the wall
Just turn around and you, you will see
I will catch you, I will catch your fall
Just have a little faith in me

Have a little faith in me
Have a little faith in me

ĎCause Iíve been loving you, for such a long, long time
Expecting nothing in return
Just for you to have a little faith in me
You see time, time is our friend
ĎCause for us, there is no end
And all you gotta do, is have a little faith in me
I will hold you up, I will hold you up
And your love, gives me strength enough to
Have a little faith in me
Hey hey
All you gotta do for me girl
Is have a little faith in me

Not sure how juicy this one is, but it sure hits close to home for me lately...also been learning to play (and even sing!) it - guess it's good for the soul.

It ain't no use to sit and wonder why, babe
If you don't know by now
It ain't no use to sit and wonder why, babe
It don't matter anyhow
When the rooster crows at the break of dawn
Look out your window and I'll be gone
You're the reason I'm travelin' on
And don't think twice, it's all right

Ain't no use in turnin' on your light, babe
It's a light I've never known
Ain't no use in turnin' on your light, babe
I'm on the dark side of the road
I wish there was somethin' you could do or say
To try and make me change my mind and stay
We never did too much talkin' anyway
And don't think twice, it's all right

Ain't no use in callin' out my name now
Like you never done before
Ain't no use in callin' out my name now
I can't hear you any more
Thinkin' and wondering all the way down the road
I once loved a woman, a child I'm told
I give her my heart, she wanted my soul
And don't think twice, it's all right

I'm goin' down that long lonesome road babe
Where I'm bound, I can't tell
But goodbye's too good a word, babe
So I'll just say fare thee well
I ain't sayin' you treated me unkind
You could have done better but I don't mind
You just kinda wasted my precious time
And don't think twice, it's all right

Faithless - Everything Will be Alright Tomorrow

Should you hear somebody cry,
"The end is nigh",
Don't you buy that line.
Tomorrow's always yesterday
Love's yet to have it's day and you've got all the time
Planes crashing, trains crashing, people dropping bombs,
Nothing new, what go come around now
Child it won't be long.

Keep keeping up,
Everything will be alright tomorrow
Keep keeping

Hey you yeah you don't let it get to you, stressing you
It's what they want you to do,
Smile a while even though it hurts
Even though it hurts
Come on let them know there'll be no breaking you
Love's gonna come around again,
And again and again and on,
Nothing new that go come around now
child it won't be long.

Keep Thinkin
Everything will be alright tomorrow
Keep Thinkin

Faithless - God Is A DJ

This is my church
This is where I heal my hurts
It's a natural grace
Of watching young life shape
It's in minor keys
Solutions and remedies
Enemies becoming friends
When bitterness ends
This is my church (x3)

This is my church
This is where I heal my hurts
It's in the world I become
Contained in the hum
Between voice and drum
It's in the change
The poetic justice of cause and effect
Respect, love, compassion
This is my church
This is where I heal my hurts
For tonight
God is a DJ
God is a DJ
This is my church (x3)

Take It To The Limit
- Eagles

All alone at the end of the of the evening
And the bright lights have faded to blue
I was thinking 'bout a woman who might have
Loved me and I never knew
You know I've always been a dreamer
(spent my life running 'round)
And it's so hard to change
(Can't seem to settle down)
But the dreams I've seen lately
Keep on turning out and burning out
And turning out the same

So put me on a highway
And show me a sign
And take it to the limit one more time

You can spend all your time making love
You can spend all your love making time
If it all fell to pieces tomorrow
Would you still be mine?

And when you're looking for your freedom
(Nobody seems to care)
And you can't find the door
(Can't find it anywhere)
When there's nothing to believe in
Still you're coming back, you're running back
You're coming back for more

So put me on a highway
And show me a sign
And take it to the limit one more time

Take it to the limit
Take it to the limit
Take it to the limit one more time

Motherfu*ker
by Primitive Radio Gods

When do I get paid for all the money you made
Selling souls on Capitol Hill
Another law's been passed designed to break your as*
And keep the middle class quiet and still
You talk a lot about justice and then go and bust us
Except for a chosen few
I've got a God-given right to smoke whatever I like
So tell me how it got given to you...Motherfu*kers
The monkey looks back at his foot in the trap
And it's the boogie man coming for you
He sells you a spade to dig out your own grave
And you can cover yourself when you're through
I never just say no so take your slogans and go
I'm gonna spell it so there ain't no doubt
'Cause I'm one with the other
I'm a bad motherfu*ker
And nobody's gonna find me out
Four billion people all strung out of their minds
On power trips and slaving ships
Not seeing that they're blind
One day I'll be in front of you
One day I'll be in front of you
Put up your hands, give me all your money
Don't think, don't blink, 'cause I can't rely on you
I sold myself, and I'll sell you with me
Don't blink, don't think, cause I can't rely on you
Mothers and fathers, it's your sons and daughters
That they're selling to the prison cells
Why so afraid of the flesh you've made
And the lies that the preachers tell
Well I was born to run on the light of the sun
And the smell of a moment's bliss
I'm out of things to say, so here's a raw display
And the power of the silent truth

If I may..
Country Rock..
I have half the Chorus...we need words..
It's a Spoof..

Chorus..
What the Hell did we do Any-way
(that has to stay)but I'm stuck..

It's always good to see you my Friend
And to wake up hung over to-gether again..??

I'll come up with more if you don't feel
like adding.

I think we went to the polar bear den
and rankled the mother with an un-Godly din.
Then down to the city we rocked and we reeled
spraying poutine on the men we sent fleeing.

I am doubly cursed, with the latter curse being a blessing to all of you.

1)That I should have even once heard the "song", "Juicy Gotcha Crazy" and
2)That I should be unable to find the lyrics to
torture all of you with MWAHAHAHAHAH....
Waxy is like an organic trail mix... 100% natural nuttiness!

Oh w-hat .. the hell did we do anyway
to end up in a UC thread it's a different
type of Country don't you know ..

That sounds like something from your past
when you said "poutine" it always made me laugh.
It's these flashbacks that keep you in my heart.
It's always good.. to see you my friend
and to wake up together hung over again..

Thanks opal..That's it..i've run out of silly

Big Log - Robert Plant

My love is in league with the freeway
Its passion will rise as the cities fly by
And the tailights dissolve in the coming of night
And the questions and thousands take flight

My love is miles in awaiting
The eyes that just stare and the glance at the clock
In the secret that burns and the pain that won't stop
And it's fueled with the years

Leading me on
Leading me down the road
Driving me on
Driving me down the road

My love is exceeding, and women
Red eyed and fevered with the hum of the miles
Distance and longing and my thoughts do collide
Should I rest for a while and decide

Your love is cradled in knowing
Eyes in the mirror still expecting their prey
Sensing too well when the journey is done
There is no turning back, No
There is no turning back, On the run

My love is in league
With the freeway
Oh, with the freeway
And the coming of night time
My love
My love
Is in league with the freeway

I'm in a sappy mood.....

Van Morrison
In the Garden

The streets are always wet with rain
After a summer shower when I saw you standin'
In the garden in the garden wet with rain

You wiped the teardrops from your eye in sorrow
As we watched the petals fall down to the ground
And as I sat beside you I felt the
Great sadness that day in the garden

And then one day you came back home
You were a creature all in rapture
You had the key to your soul
And you did open that day you came back to the garden

The olden summer breeze was blowin' on your face
The light of God was shinin' on your countenance divine
And you were a violet colour as you
Sat beside your father and your mother in the garden

The summer breeze was blowin' on your face
Within your violet you treasure your summery words
And as the shiver from my neck down to my spine
Ignited me in daylight and nature in the garden

And you went into a trance
Your childlike vision became so fine
And we heard the bells inside the church
We loved so much
And felt the presence of the youth of
Eternal summers in the garden

And as it touched your cheeks so lightly
Born again you were and blushed and we touched each other lightly
And we felt the presence of the Christ

And I turned to you and I said
No Guru, no method, no teacher
Just you and I and nature
And the father in the garden

No Guru, no method, no teacher
Just you and I and nature
And the Father and the
Son and the Holy Ghost
In the garden wet with rain
No Guru, no method, no teacher
Just you and I and nature and the holy ghost
In the garden, in the garden, wet with rain
No Guru, no method, no teacher
Just you and I and nature
"No Guru, no method, no teacher
Just you and I and nature"

In Dreams
Roy Orbison

A candy-colored clown they call the sandman
Tiptoes to my room every night
Just to sprinkle star dust and to whisper
ďGo to sleep, everything is all rightĒ

I close my eyes then I drift away
Into the magic night, I softly say
A silent prayer like dreamers do
Then I fall asleep to dream my dreams of you

In dreams I walk with you
In dreams I talk to you
In dreams you're mine all the time
We're together in dreams, in dreams

But just before the dawn
I awake and find you gone
I can't help it, I can't help it if I cry
I remember that you said goodbye

Too bad it only seems
It only happens in my dreams
Only in dreams
In beautiful dreams.

[bows to Roy Orbison] I was never into RO enough to buy a CD or anything like that, but his stuff was good, and I've got to admire a guy who was able to get heavy rotation on country, top-40 *and* rock stations with the same song("You Got It")!

I once tracked the prior song down for my Mom, who kept hearing it in a TV ad and got hooked.

Going To the Country (3:10)
Look out the window, what do I see?
cows hangin' out under spreading trees.
ZOOM! they're gone behind the sign
white letters pointing to the long white line
and I'm going to the country
o, la la la la la
I'm going to the country
sunshine smile on me

I can smell the grass growing in the field
wind in my hair tells me how it feels
farm house, silver roof flashing by
tractor-trailer truck says goodbye with a sigh
and I'm going to the country
o, la la la la la
I'm going to the country
sunshine smile on me

birds singing, I'm singing in my bones
doesn't much matter now where I'm going
get it when I get there is what I'll do
if I get enough I'll give some to you
and I'm going to the country
o, happy as can be
I'm going to the country
sunshine smile on me

The Thirteenth Mountain (4:45)
Sable sky anoints the earth with crystal 'neath my foot
wide-eyed, white-plumed owl plays upon his magic flute
silver-circled moonlight cresting waves of shadow blue,
and the river is secretly flowing

shining stars dance high above the cobweb treelimbs' grace
faery castles crowned with light fly banners of white lace
tangled boughs of holly watch with eyes of scarlet hue
and the wind is silently blowing

are no men is only Man seeking one love
searching vainly for excuse among the stars above
eyes too tired to see the river flowing 'neath the ice
and too numb to see the purpose behind knowing...

as above so below

Don't think about all those things you feel,
just be glad to be here.

Can't stop addicted to the shin dig
Cop top he says I'm gonna win big
Choose not a life of imitation
Distant cousin to the reservation
Defunkt the pistol that you pay for
This punk the feeling that you stay for
In time I want to be your best friend
Eastside love is living on the westend
Knock out but boy you better come to
Don't die you know the truth is some do
Go write your message on the pavement
Burnin' so bright I wonder what the wave meant
White heat is screaming in the jungle
Complete the motion if you stumble
Go ask the dust for any answers
Come back strong with 50 belly dancers

[Chorus:]
The world I love
The tears I drop
To be part of
The wave can't stop
Ever wonder if it's all for you
The world I love
The trains I hop
To be part of
The wave can't stop
Come and tell me when it's time to

Sweetheart is bleeding in the snowcone
So smart she's leading me to ozone
Music the great communicator
Use two sticks to make it in the nature
I'll get you into penetration
The gender of a generation
The birth of every other nation
Worth your weight the gold of meditation
This chapter's going to be a close one
Smoke rings I know your going to blow one
All on a spaceship persevering
Use my hands for everything but steering
Can't stop the spirits when they need you
Mop tops are happy when they feed you
J. Butterfly is in the treetop
Birds that blow the meaning into bebop

[Repeat Chorus]

Wait a minute I'm passing out
Win or lose just like you
Far more shocking
Than anything i ever knew
How about you
10 more reasons
Why i need somebody new just like you
Far more shocking than anything I ever knew
Right on cue

Can't stop addicted to the shin dig
Cop top he says I'm gonna win big
Choose not a life of imitation
Distant cousin to the reservation
Defunkt the pistol that you pay for
This punk the feeling that you stay for
In time I want to be your best friend
Eastside love is living on the westend
Knock out but boy you better come to
Don't die you know the truth is some do
Go write your message on the pavement
Burnin' so bright I wonder what the wave meant

Kick start the golden generator
Sweet talk but don't intimidate her
Can't stop the gods from engineering
Feel no need for any interfering
Your image in the dictionary
This life is more than ordinary
Can I get 2 maybe even 3 of these
Come from space
To teach you of the pliedes
Can't stop the spirits when they need you
This life is more than just a read thru
