"Phantom" and "V" do bring up the two ends of the continuum for some people, knowing they also have a "dark" side. It doesn't matter that both men had a "cause" they believed in. The fact that they took lives, is hard to swallow. But such is the impact of revolution. Sal's is a waystation, a soft place to land, when it's all "too much to bear" a respite from the storm. Art does that sometimes, makes people think, annoys and uplifts. Dychotomy. |

L. A. B., I too like my pin-ups to have some complexity to them. Plain vanilla can be delicious, but how much more awesome is it when you throw in a dash of something dark....like chocolate! And speaking of luscious darkness, I think it's time for my Diabetic's Deathwish #3--a triple layer chocolate torte sitting on a deep plate that's been drizzled with dark chocolate syrup until the torte is almost afloat, with an iced chocolate mocha on the side....[sigh] "When fascism comes to America, it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying a cross." Personally I accept that I have both a "light" and a "dark" nature (more than one actually, but that's another issue). I let them air themselves fairly freely, it keeps a balance, and to me balance is important. I think "good" and "evil" are subjective concepts. Personally, for me, as long as no one is harmed, that's all that matters. Then again, sometimes things or people have to be harmed for the greater good. Like.... bad people! Then again! "Bad" is a subjective concept! I'm stopping before I go in circles, which this thought process always seems to do. More espresso please! My mind is obviously not going fast enough! Ok # 3 DDW (oops!!ate it)..don't know how J does it..In 5 Pat! Brig I most certainly hear you..That is Balance. The one thing I wonder about is this ? If your thoughts are (real) out there how in the Heck do you spiritualy evolve? My thoughts lately are to be questioned on a spiritual level? |

Hey all .. So THIS is the infamous cafe' huh? Glad to be here This "searching for some kind of meaning and enlightenment" business.. It's like two steps backwards for every step forward. Sure seems that way to me. Plus, we all seem to get "pruned" by life every so often. To get us back on, or keep us on some kind of track, I'm guessing. Those prunings, they tend to be, at the very least, uncomfortable, and often enough, downright agonizing. (Now THAT'S a run on sentence!) Going through one myself now..it sucks. Not sure how I stand on ANYTHING right now..but..you know..at peace with that feeling (as much as one can be when the carpet has been pulled out from under them)..allowing the process to happen..picking up..dusting off..starting all over again Gotta ride it out..keep the faith..fight the good fight..all that. blah, blah, blah...
See? I'm still smiling (twitch, twitch) Speaking of chocolate cake, have you guys seen those little microwavable chocolate lava like cakes 9they have some kin dof hot chocolate pudding inside) Oh my Gawd!! They look warm, gooey...awesome. Not a good time to be low carb (which I am..but I'm thinking of trying one out regardless..the occasional slip is probably ahealthy thing..just as long as it's just an occasional thing...balance and all that) "I've looked at life from both sides now From win and lose, but still somehow It's life's illusions I recall I really don't know life at all." -Joni Mitchell

Hope you are not "living" with your "friend." Better to keep seperate residences, and see how it goes. (For your protection.) Some people are so broken they cannot "control" the anger, only "mask" it. Just be cautious until a long bit of time goes by and trust builds. |

Rise and shine? Crapola. I just got here and I need a great big, extra creamy, dark chocolate Brandy Alexander! And I don't drink! Bring me one, please, John. susi was pickin' on me and I'm all cry-faced. S'O.K., though, I know she's a good soul. But, wah, I wanna cry. My whole world came crashing down, and Art Bell is the least of my worries. wah, wah, wah. Need susi to gimme a hug n say she ain't mad. Make that a double, please, John. *nose is running, eyes are red* *plops head on arms on table* ~~ sigh ~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The older the fiddle the sweeter the tune. ... Oh, and PS, I'm going to say it now: People need to leave Art Bell the hell alone. Its his life and his decisions, its not affecting anyone personally, and if he's made a mistake its his lesson and if he hasn't then bully for him for finding happiness after his wife died. *is a bit tired of hearing it* "There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, Than are dreamt of in your philosophy." --From Hamlet (I, v, 166-167) "Watakushi wa shishi desu" --From Harley
